Huangjiabang Ancient Village, Yizhang, Hunan

Huangjiabang Village is located next to the lush Mangshan Mountain with its overlapping peaks and crisscrossing streams. It was founded during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty by Huang's ancestor, Shao Gong, who moved here more than 560 years ago. The village has beautiful scenery and is also the largest administrative village in Mangshan Yao Ethnic Township, Yizhang County, Chenzhou. Huangjiabang Village is surrounded by mountains, staggered and well-defined. Walking into Huangjiabang Village, you will see bluestone steps, and the ancient lanes paved with stone slabs and pebbles are winding and connected. Overlooking from a height, you can see natural paintings and rural pastoral scenery. The ancient ancestral halls, ancient trees, and ancient houses scattered in the countryside are basically well preserved, adding a bit of nostalgia to this ancient village that has experienced vicissitudes. Dozens of old houses from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are located in the village, and the alleys between the houses are paved with bluestone slabs and cobblestones. There are more than 20 historical sites and cultural relics, such as ancestral halls, gate towers, firewalls, and ancient Yao-Han dwellings, which are still well preserved. Among them, the gate tower and Huang's Ancestral Hall are key cultural relics protection units in the province and city. It is the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages.
