Huangya Cave Arsenal Ruins: The largest arsenal in North China during the Anti-Japanese War, with preserved relics like lathes and shell molds, vividly showcasing the Eighth Route Army's "no guns, no cannons, we make them ourselves" era. Note: The cave is temporarily closed for safety, but the external square and memorial hall are open. Lianhua Temple & Wufu Viewing Platform: Take a 120-meter cliffside elevator to 1,600 meters above sea level for a panoramic view of the "Taihang Red Cliffs." In spring, wildflowers bloom and sea of clouds roll, making it a 100% photogenic spot! Huangyaguan during the Labor Day holiday: The scenic area is very large, and it's crowded but not congested. 🇨🇳Route Route A – Shantu direction: Sightseeing bus ➡️ Cliff elevator ➡️ Mountain-crossing cable car ➡️ Sightseeing bus ➡️ Cliffside path ➡️ Arsenal and Huangyaguan small loop line (this is a loop line, go around and come back) ➡️ Downhill canyon path (the most beautiful scenery is here; if you take Route B, you will pass here first, but you need to climb the mountain) ➡️ Sightseeing bus or mini train Route B – Huangyaguan direction: The opposite of Route A PS: Shantu and Huangyaguan are two loop lines that fork in the canyon. Route A requires less mountain climbing and saves energy. 🇨🇳About Huangyaguan: It is recommended to take an armored vehicle on the Huangyaguan loop line, first to experience it, and second to save energy. It costs 25 RMB for a one-way trip. PS: I didn't take the armored vehicle at first. I climbed the mountain to the site of the old arsenal (it was boring and tiring), and then walked 1.5 km to Huangyaguan (mostly flat road). After seeing it, I didn't have the energy to go down the mountain, so I took an armored vehicle. The armored vehicle only goes to Huangyaguan. You have to walk to the arsenal, so it is not recommended to go. Enjoy the scenery of the Taihang Mountains along the way. It's worth the trip!

Tianwaitian Leisure Experience Area • Wenggelang Canyon: A natural mountain corridor 1 km long and only a few meters wide, surrounded by peaks and cliffs. It is known as "A Thread of Sky" and is an excellent route for hiking and adventure. • Zhenwo Pagoda: A stone pagoda on a conical solitary peak, with exquisite craftsmanship and vivid shape, integrated with the solitary peak, piercing the sky. • Alpine Park: Mountain streams, clear water, red flowers and green grass, and shimmering reflections are good places for leisure and sightseeing. 3. Apr 07, 2025 Huangyaguan|||Huangyaguan is located in the central Taihang Mountains. It is famous for being the largest ordnance base behind enemy lines in North China during the Anti-Japanese War. Now it has become a 4A scenic spot integrating natural scenery and red education. Tickets: CNY 60 (I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free discount because of my Beijing ID card!), and you also need to purchase a transportation package for CNY 138, including three sightseeing buses, one vertical elevator, and one cable car. In addition, there are armored vehicles from Sancha Kou to Huangyaguan, which cost CNY 25 for a one-way trip. Parking: There is a very large parking lot in front of the scenic area. Tour: After entering the scenic area, the first thing that catches your eye is the Military Industry Lake (see P3). Walk along the left side and go up the steps to the sightseeing bus boarding point. Take the sightseeing bus to the vertical elevator (there is no scenery at the transfer point, so you can directly transfer to the elevator). After getting off the elevator, you will arrive at Shantuomiao. Don't rush to take the cable car here. You can enjoy the scenery and take pictures here (see P4 and P12). Then take the cable car to Yushupo (transfer to the second sightseeing bus here, there is no scenery here, so transfer directly). Take the sightseeing bus to Longmenjia Station, and walk from Longmenjia to Sancha Kou via the cliffside path and Hongxin Weng (see P5 and P7). The route is mainly downhill, and it takes about 50 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. There are two options at Sancha Kou: take an armored vehicle to Huangyaguan for CNY 25 one way, or walk uphill for 30–40 minutes. We took an armored vehicle there and walked back, so we didn't miss any attractions. Walk back to Sancha Kou and continue down to Taihangmen Square. It takes about 30 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. In fact, I feel that this section of the road is the essence of Huangyaguan (see P8, P9, P10, and P11), so don't miss it. Finally, take the sightseeing bus for the third time at Taihang Square to return to the visitor center, and the day trip ends. The total time is 5 hours and 40 minutes. Transportation By Car🚗 If you love the freedom of the open road, driving is an excellent choice: - From Changzhi City, follow the G22 Qinglan Expressway, feeling the wind in your hair, and exit at Licheng/G207. Then, take National Highway 207 and County Road Z108 to your destination. It's like an adventurous exploration into the unknown. - If you're starting from Jincheng City, take the G5512 Jinxin Expressway, transfer to the G55 Erguang Expressway, and then merge onto the G22 Qinglan Expressway. The rest of the route is similar to the one from Changzhi. Different starting points, but the same anticipation for beautiful scenery. - From Yangquan City, head south along National Highway 207, from Yibai Road to Donghe Road, and finally follow County Road Z108 to reach Huangyadong. The scenery along the way is a prelude to this journey. - If you're coming from Handan City, take the G22 Qinglan Expressway, then Shexian Jiangjun Avenue, Shezuo Highway, and Dongqing Highway. Finally, follow National Highway 207 and County Road Z108 to this scenic spot where red history and green nature intertwine. By Bus🚌 Don't worry if you don't want to drive; public transportation is equally convenient: - Buses from Changzhi City to Licheng County run every half hour from 7:00 to 17:30, acting as links between the city and the mountains. After arriving in Licheng County, take another bus to Huangyadong, which takes about 1 hour and costs around CNY 8. Buses depart every half hour, making the trip easy and comfortable. - There are also direct buses from Licheng to Huangyadong, costing around CNY 6 and taking 40 minutes. Buses depart every half hour. Moreover, buses from Licheng to Zuoquan, Dongyadi, and Yangquan all pass by Huangyadong, providing more travel options. III. Must-See Attractions Huangyadong Arsenal Site🏭 This was the largest arsenal behind enemy lines in North China during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The Eighth Route Army soldiers shed their blood and fought tenaciously against the Japanese invaders here. Stepping into the site, you can almost hear the roar of machinery and the resolute slogans of the soldiers from that era.
