Jordan
Jordan, officially known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is a country located in the West Asia region, bordering Syria, Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the Red Sea. The capital of the country is Amman, and the largest city is Aqaba.
Jordan is a dry country surrounded by hills and mountains in the Levant region. In addition, Jordan has many famous attractions such as the ancient city of Petra, the Dead Sea, the Jordan River Valley mentioned in the Old Testament, and the tourist destination of Oman. These attractions make Jordan a popular tourist destination.
Jordan is a traditionally monarchic country, and King Abdullah II is the monarch. The official language of the country is Arabic, and the majority of the population practices Islam. Jordan's economy is mainly based on tourism, chemical industry, agriculture, and mineral extraction, and the country is also a commercial center in the Middle East.
In terms of politics, Jordan has always been one of the relatively stable countries in the Middle East, and it has a place in Middle Eastern and international affairs. As a country that follows Islamic law, Jordan has a deep understanding and appreciation of Islamic culture and traditions, and also supports and promotes the harmonious development of Islam.
My itinerary started from Dubai to Amman, Jordan. The next day, I went to Jerash, which can be reached by charter or by taking a minibus from the North Station. Jerash has preserved a large number of ancient Roman ruins, and the rise and fall of ancient Rome can be seen in the ruins. After returning from Jerash, I visited the ancient Roman theater and Citadel Hill in Amman. The next day, I went to Petra and chatted with a Dutch guy on the way. Petra is a very large ancient city, and it can be tiring to walk around, but overall it was manageable. Continuing down from Petra, I arrived at Wadi Rum, which is famous for its red desert and is the most Mars-like place on this planet. I stayed in the desert for one night and saw the starry sky that I hadn't seen in a long time. The local Bedouin people were very hospitable, and there were people from all over the world in the tents.
Continuing down from Petra, you will arrive at Aqaba, the only port city in Jordan, a small town different from other cities in Amman. Finally, I went to the Dead Sea to experience floating. If you have wounds on your body, you will float especially easily.
The Rose City of Petra ✨
Petra has also been referred to as the “Rose City” because of the colour of the stones used in its buildings. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985
I checked off my second Jordan bucket list here, which is to see The Treasury (Al-Khazneh). To get here, you first walk the 1.2km long Siq, a narrow gorge that serves as the entrance to Petra.
I recommend spending two days here because the place is massive and there is so much to see in Petra.
Top tip: take pictures on your way back from the trails around 5 pm when people start leaving.
Best months to visit April and September 😎

Petra-Jordan
Petra is a famous archaeological site in Jordan's southwestern desert. Dating to around 300 B.C., it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Accessed via a narrow canyon called Al Siq, it contains tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the "Rose City." Perhaps its most famous structure is 45m-high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate, Greek-style facade, and known as The Treasury.

The Magical Petra by Night Experience
Petra by Night is a magical event that takes place in the ancient city of Petra, Jordan. The event is a candlelit tour of the area that allows visitors to experience Petra in a unique and enchanting way. The tour begins at the Petra Visitor Centre and takes visitors through the Siq, a narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury. The Siq is lit with over 1500 candles, creating a magical atmosphere that transports visitors back in time. The Treasury is the highlight of the tour and is illuminated by hundreds of candles. There are projections and a live show including Bedouin music.
Petra by Night is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week and runs from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Centre shops, local tour agencies in Petra, or at some hotel receptions.

Petra, A True World Wonder
Petra is located in Wadi Musa, Jordan and you’re able to access the archeological site of Petra from Wadi Musa, access to Wadi Musa is via Coach, Driving or Taxi from what I am aware. Entrances fees into Petra can vary depending on how many days you’re planning to visit however I recommend getting ‘The Jordan Pass’ which allows you access into Petra and in my case being from the UK covered Visa costs as well as access to other sites across the country of Jordan for example in Amman.
The entrance to Petra begins with the huge crevasse that is most known in Western Culture from the Indiana Jones movie, this portion of Petra lasts for 20 to 30 minutes and is magically with every bend being as unique as the previous alongside this the pure size of crevasse really has you in awe. Once you reach the end of the crevasse you’re met with The Treasury, Petra’s most famous landmark and most photographed, the huge building carved into the hillside is truly spectacular and makes you consider what is possible and achievable.
Whilst visiting Petra you’re able to travel via Golf Cart, Horse, Donkey or Camel for various prices however in my instance I opted to just walk. You’re able to travel Petra at your own pace and along the way you have plenty of locations offering affordable food, drinks and souvenirs.

Visit the AMAZING 🤩 Treasury 💎 in Jordan this SUMMER BREAK!
Seeing the Treasury in Petra is mind-blowing as it is one of the architectural wonders in ALL of MIDDLE EAST! It's like stepping into an Indiana Jones movie. As you walk through the narrow Siq, the anticipation builds, and then, bam! There it is, in all its grandeur, carved into the rock face. The intricate details and the sheer size of the Treasury are awe-inspiring. The rose-colored façade glows in the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing sight. You can't help but wonder about the stories and secrets this ancient structure holds. It's a moment that takes your breath away and makes you appreciate the incredible craftsmanship and history of the Treasury.
Out of all the places I have been to in my life, Petra in Jordan was one of the most breathtaking locations I have had the chance to witness. From the breathtaking mood at night to the sheer scale of the rock carvings, everything was a pure breath of fresh air, and a time travel to the past. As we followed the Al-Khubtha trail to the top, we came to a little tent set up by some locals, who served us tea to enjoy the views with. Certainly a place I am dying to go back to, as this experience profoundly marked my heart with emotions and feelings 🇯🇴🐪 Pro tip, for the views from above, there are several locations, but I would recommend following the Al-Khubtha trail. it is a bit of a walk and hike, but you will definitely get to enjoy the views to yourself, away from the rest of the tourists. (Don’t listen to the local “fake” guides who would tell you that trail is closed so that they can bring you to another trail to earn commissions 😉)

Al-Siq Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Al-Siq: The Majestic Gateway to Petra
Al-Siq, the main entrance to the ancient Nabatean city of Petra in southern Jordan, makes the best entrance into the area. This narrow gorge, in some points no more than 3 meters wide, winds its way approximately 1.2 kilometers and ends at Petra's most elaborate ruin, “The Treasury”.
The Siq is a natural geological fault split apart by tectonic forces and later worn smooth by water. The walls that enclose the Siq stand between 91–182 metres in height. As you walk through the Siq, you'll notice the remains of the original city gate to Petra.
The Siq was used as the grand caravan entrance into Petra. Along both walls of the fissure are a number of votive niches containing baetyli, which suggest that the Siq was sacred to the Nabatean people. In 1998, a group of statues were uncovered when digging was conducted to lower the road.

🤩❤️ ENCHANTING Journey via Al Siq
#summerbreak
Walking through Al Siq in Jordan in this SUMMER BREAK is like entering a magical portal to another time!
This narrow, winding gorge is a gateway to wonder and amazement. As you make your way through the towering sandstone walls, the sunlight dances on the rocks, casting enchanting shadows. You can almost hear the whispers of the ancient civilizations that once traversed this path. Admire the intricate rock formations, the subtle hues of pink and red, and the natural beauty that surrounds you. With every step, anticipation grows, leading you closer to the grand reveal of Jordan’s treasures. Al Siq is a mesmerizing prelude to the awe-inspiring wonders that await within this ancient city.
The entrance to Petra is a very slender canyon called the Serpentine Siq, which is more than 1 km long and 7 meters wide at its widest point. It is only about two meters in the narrowest part, with cliffs of up to 80 meters on both sides. There are caves and rock tombs. We set off on the dawn of the day and planned to come here before the tour group.
shuttles through the long river of history, and every turn is amazed. At the narrowest estuary, the sun shines through the cracks, and the color of the rock changes from different angles. The carriage is full of tourists. If it is not a modern person sitting in the car, it is inevitable that people think that the carriage has passed through to the ancient times. This subtle feeling has also appeared in the pyramid.
Through the serpent to the end, a huge temple with a turn is looming, like the mysterious base of the treasure in the movie, there is a magic to pull the curiosity forward. Although I have seen this scene in movies and pictures, I was still infected by this situation when I was really there. Until I saw the whole building, I was amazed at the scene. It was the kind that I couldnt help myself. The exclamation of "Wow", like the joys and sorrows of finding a treasure, and Petra let me experience the excitement of being an explorer.
Little Petra Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Discover the Triclinium at Little Petra
Nestled in the arid, mountainous desert region of Jordan, just 8 kilometres north of Petra, lies the archaeological gem known as Little Petra. This Nabataean site, also known as Siq al-Barid, meaning “the cold canyon”, is a testament to the grandeur of ancient civilizations.
One of the most intriguing features of Little Petra is the Triclinium. The term “Triclinium” translates to “three benches” in Latin. Contrary to popular belief, these chambers were not used for honouring the dead. Instead, they served as banquet halls for special guests and were the venues for ‘symposia’ meetings.
The site is part of the Petra Archeological Park and is included in Petra’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is often visited by tourists in conjunction with Petra itself, since it is free and usually less crowded.

Little Petra
Little Petra is exactly what it means. Short walk about 1h both ways. Small stone building nothing really as spectacular as the main Petra but on the other side less people and if you do not have time to go to Petra it can be substituted. Although do not expect the same feeling canyons buildings and the feel of real Petra. If you have been in main Petra then you can skip it.
Walking on the high slopes of Jordan, looking for the disappearing Nabat civilization, the city of roses [Petra] .
The ancient city of Petra is the most long-awaited place I have come to Jordan. It is the location of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and is one of Jordan's most prestigious monuments, along with the Great Wall and the Taj Mahal. Known as the Seven Wonders of the World. Because of the special geographical features of the ancient city, the rocks of the site have a coral-like reddish hue, and under the sunlight, natural reflections are dazzling. Since then, people have given it a very beautiful name, "City of Roses".
The most famous in the ancient city is the "Kazni Temple" in Figure 5. In the first century BC, how did the Arab nomadic Nabateans build this majestic temple? The meaning of the patterns and words on the stone cliff is still a mystery.
The general tour group is almost over before you bring everyone to the temple, but I want Amway to be a top secret private photo spot! From an ancient hiking trail behind the Royal tomb, climb all the way up, about two hours, you can reach the top of the mountain overlooking the temple, is also the ins network red punch card holy place! The walking process is desperate, but the result is definitely sweat back!
When a wild travel blogger is not easy, I walked for 9 hours in the ancient city, jumping up and down with my hands and feet, crawling over the cliffs of the temple and sharing it with everyone!
Back Door hiking route to the Monastery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
🌞 Unveiling the Majestic Monastery this SUMMER 🌞
#summerbreak
The Monastery, other than the Treasury, is another AMAZING wonder in Jordan!
Visiting the Monastery in Jordan is like stumbling upon a hidden gem in a lost world! Though it looks like the Treasury, it still offers unique view!
It's a trek worth every step. As you hike up the rocky trail, with every twist and turn, anticipation builds. Then, suddenly, you're greeted by a colossal façade carved into the cliff, dwarfing everything around it. The Monastery, with its intricate details and towering presence, leaves you in awe. Take a breather, catch your breath, and soak in the breathtaking views from the plateau. Explore the chambers, marvel at the ancient tombs, and let the sense of wonder wash over you. The Monastery is an unforgettable testament to the grandeur of the past.
The Stunning Backdoor Hike in Petra
The Little Petra to Petra hike is a great way to experience Petra without the crowds. The route will take you to the Monastery, which is equally as spectacular but far less visited than the Treasury. The hike starts at the backdoor of Petra, which can be reached by taking a jeep shuttle from Little Petra. The shuttle costs 5 Jordanian dinars per person and takes you as close as you can get to the steps for the back trail up to The Monastery.
The trail is about 8 kilometers long and takes 1.5-2 hours to complete. The path is in good condition all the way and the first half is flat. The exposed trail and heat in the summer months can make this track pretty tiring. Not only is this a perfect winter getaway but also an area away from tourists and the souvenir stands and you also get to see some pretty wild landscape that you wouldn't otherwise get to experience.
