I've traveled a lot, but this place is one of the most memorable 💓. It's a warm and relaxing space where you can truly unwind! The accommodation was pure healing itself, and it was great to stay there all day long. The chickens and cats roaming freely in nature were so cute, and I went to Buyeo just for this place, and it exceeded my expectations. I visited Baekje Cultural Land with my friends in April this year as part of 'Orientation with Koreal Culture' initiative by my college. The weather was good and trip went smoothly. The place is historical site managed by Korean government as part of preserving their cultural identities. The site is a combination of two seprate but closely linked facilities: a museum and cultural site. At both the locations sufficient arrangements have been made to explain the historical significance of the place to foreign visitors in English. Also at the cultural site which is reasonably wide a deputed guide accompanies younin in case you visit as a group. Overall a day well spent.

Gungnamji is a representative tourist attraction in Buyeo where you can walk along a beautiful lotus path with 10 million lotus flowers in full bloom. The first place I visited in Buyeo was the Neungsan-ri Ancient Tombs. The Neungsan-ri Ancient Tombs are the royal tombs of the Baekje royal family built in Sabi, the third capital of Baekje. If the Seokchon-dong Ancient Tombs are in Hanseong (Seoul), the first capital of Baekje, and the Songsan-ri Ancient Tombs are in Ungjin (Gongju), the second capital, then the Neungsan-ri Ancient Tombs are located here, the third and final capital. If I had to pick the most popular item in the Neungsan-ri Ancient Tombs, it would be the Baekje Gilt-bronze Incense Burner excavated here in 1993. The incense burner is so elaborately made that it is hard to believe it was made over a thousand years ago, and it is an artifact that shows Baekje, a cultural powerhouse with a developed art scene. Even now, if you go to the souvenir stand in front of the main tourist attraction in Buyeo, you can see a 5,000 won gilt-bronze incense burner model being sold, so it seems that relics that are over a thousand years old are still contributing to the local economy. It's like seeing Michelangelo in Vatican City or Gaudi in Barcelona. Looking at the uphill road to the tumuli and the unknown tombs on the hill, I remembered coming here in elementary school. Back then, when I was young, I used to roll around on the grassy hills between the tombs as a slope... Now, I feel dizzy just thinking about it, running wild between the tombs in this place that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After arriving at the tumuli, I gave my friend a brief explanation about the Neungsan-ri tumuli. What? The answer I got was, "Isn't this a cemetery?" When I thought about it, yes, it was. Now, this place has become an important ancient historical site and a valuable tourist resource in the region, but hundreds of years ago, this place was just one of the cemeteries. No, since it was a royal cemetery, it must have been like the current National Cemetery. After hearing that from my friend, the Neungsan-ri Tombs that day, when only my friend and I were there, felt strangely gloomy. #summervacay Spent a lazy afternoon exploring Buyeo-eup, and wow, it’s like stepping into a history book, but in the most chill way. First stop was Jeongnimsa Temple Site, and even though it’s mostly ruins now, the vibes are peaceful and calming. The old stone pagoda there? Super photogenic, especially with the mountains in the background. You can almost hear the whispers of Baekje-era monks, lol. Then I wandered over to Gungnamji Pond, and it was straight-up dreamy. There's this little pavilion in the middle of the pond, lotus flowers everywhere, and it just feels like a romantic scene from an old drama. Everything here screams heritage, but in a way that doesn't feel stuffy or boring. Buyeo-eup really surprised me, it’s small but packed with old soul energy. Perfect for a half-day slow walk, especially if you're into Korean history or just want a break from city chaos. Peaceful, nostalgic, and kinda magical.

#summervacay Dropped by Muryangsa Temple in South Chungcheong-do, and wow, what a peaceful little spot tucked away in the mountains. It’s not super touristy, which made it even better, quiet, calm, and surrounded by trees that made the whole place feel like a zen bubble. The temple buildings are seriously beautiful, with those classic curved rooftops and faded paint that just scream history. There’s this really cool old pagoda right in the middle, and the views around the temple grounds were giving total peaceful forest retreat. I wandered around the paths, snapped a ton of pics, and even just sat on a bench listening to birds for a while. Super chill. Met a monk who smiled and nodded, no pressure, just vibes. Definitely not a flashy spot, but if you’re into quiet places with a bit of old soul and fresh mountain air, Muryangsa is worth the detour. Felt like I pressed pause on life for a minute.

Didn’t expect to be into ancient kingdoms, but walking around these old sites had a kind of calm magic to it. Hit up the Baekje Cultural Land first, giant traditional buildings, super detailed, kind of felt like being on a drama set. Then wandered over to the old fortress area (Busosanseong), which has these peaceful trails with amazing views and just enough ruins to make you feel like you're discovering something. Also climbed up to the shrine spot where they honored the Baekje kings, not too intense of a hike, and totally worth it. Plus, there’s this whole legend-y vibe in the air, like you’re walking through stories. Buyeo isn’t loud or flashy, but if you’re into peaceful spots with old soul energy, it hits different.
