Old San Juan an historic site where locals pride themselves in the history and beauty of the town. There are few shops and restaurants in the town. it’s about a 10 min drive from San Juan. In the winter, the east coast of the United States is snowing, and the Caribbean is warm everywhere. Castillo San Felipe del Morro is a must visit in San Juan , with breathtaking ocean views — especially at sunset. When you buy admission, you also get access to Castillo San Cristóbal, which you should definitely check out too — it’s a must-see. The walk between the two, no matter which way you go, is through Old San Juan, where there’s so much art, cool restaurants, and little surprises — I even saw a painted artistic basketball court on the way over. The strong sea breeze in front of the castle makes it a perfect spot for kite flying, and the sky is often filled with colorful kites. You self-explore the castle — the architecture is great, but honestly, the view and the wild proximity to the ocean are the main event. You can go many flights down — it’s super windy and insanely gorgeous. Watching the sunset in front of El Morro — words and pictures couldn’t capture it. Heads up: there are lots of stairs, and it’s a huge, multi-level fortress, so bring water and wear good walking shoes.

It was my first time going to San Juan Puerto Rico and I had the most amazing time visiting the big castle and visiting all the different beaches!! It was definitely a sight to see and i would go back again! It was so peaceful just laying around on the beach and also the different restaurants we went to, food was definitely great there and I can’t wait to visit again with my friend

This fortress was built in 1539 to monitor ships entering San Juan. In addition to monitoring ships, it also served to protect the city from Caribbean pirates and attacks and invasions from other countries, and it has been renovated and expanded over the course of about 200 years since its construction. The fortress, with an outer wall 40m above sea level and 6m thick, is equipped with over 400 cannons and was said to be impregnable at the time. Inside the fort were barracks, warehouses, prisons, and more, and the maze-like underground passages connecting them could have held up to 4,500 people. So remember to choose a hotel or accommodation in the old city so that you can easily access all attractions. Local Attractions - There are many attractions within the Old Town. These include the two most important castles, Paseo del Morro and Castillo San Cristóbal. The admission fee of US$10 includes both castles. In addition, La Perla community in the old city is where the despasito music video was filmed. However, this community was relatively dangerous 10 years ago. It is better now, but you still need to pay attention to the rules in the community. Food and Restaurants - Puerto Rico has different specialties, the more famous of which is mofongo, which can be found in all major Puerto Rican restaurants. For breakfast also try the mallorca at Cafetería Mallorca. This bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and slightly sweet, and will become more and more addictive the more you eat it. Also, for lunch I highly recommend Deaverdura. Although this restaurant does not have a formal menu and no prices are listed, the food quality is very good and the price is about US$10 to US$20. I visited a city called San Juan in Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. I visited Castillo San Felipe del Morro, which was built in the 1700s and is located right in front of the beach. It was such a cool and meaningful opportunity with clouds and wide fields!! It was a place I would like to visit again if I have the chance later~
