It started in front of Quandingtan (behind Daoxian No. 2 Middle School today) and was built when Kou Zhun, the prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty, was demoted to Sima of Daozhou. The governor of the state, Chen Wei, rebuilt the pavilion and renamed it "Xiyu Pavilion" because his prayers for rain were answered. During the reconstruction in the tenth year of Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1805), the building was moved to the inner city wall and was still named Kougong Tower.

Chenshuxiang Red Culture Park is located in Guitou Village, Meihua Town, Daoxian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, on the banks of Zhuangshui River, 5 km from the county seat. It covers an area of 3 square kilometers and includes an archway, a relief wall, a Chenshuxiang life story exhibition room, a Chenshuxiang martyr's tomb, a Red 34th Division martyr's tomb, a revolutionary martyr's monument, a Red Army pavilion, He Baozhen's former residence, and He Baozhen's life story exhibition room. It is a beautiful place with a rich culture and has been rated as a Hunan Province Patriotic Education Base, Hunan Province Party Spirit Education Base, Hunan Province National Defense Education Base, and Hunan Province Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit. Located in Loutian Village, Daoxian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, Zhou Dunyi's Former Residence is the birthplace of Zhou Dunyi, the founder of Neo-Confucianism, who was born here on May 5, 1017, and spent his childhood here until he was 15. The residence was first built in the early Northern Song Dynasty and was renovated several times during the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. The current residence was rebuilt on the original site in 2010 and is a typical ancient Huizhou-style building in southern Hunan with Ming Dynasty features. He Shaoji, a famous calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty, once praised it in a poem: "Bees and butterflies gather around the house, and the wind and rain are refreshing," which is the location of the ancient "Eight Scenic Spots of Lianxi" and "Tingcao Guangfeng." Zhou Dunyi lived and studied here in his youth, determined to study and "understand the root of the heavenly principles and the beginning and end of all things." Later, he wrote "Taiji Diagram," "Explanation of Taiji Diagram," "Tongshu," and other works, creating a new Confucianism and establishing a system of Neo-Confucianism, which became the official school of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties and was respected by the world.
