Norman Palace Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
Byzantine art is a historical heritage that spans the millennium and is also the yearning for the ancient empire. The medieval Byzantine Empire, from architecture, literature, art to clothing, left an indelible influence on later generations. The mosaic inlays with representative features have also become Byzantine style ICON!
is full of Byzantine style. The empire has fallen in the long history, but the legacy of the empire has long been integrated into the roots of Sicily. Perhaps this is what Sicily should look like.

Built in the 11th century, the Norman Palace is a complex of palaces transformed by the Normans on the ancient Carthage and ancient Roman ruins. It was later turned into a bureaucrat by the Sicilian rulers. The private chapel built by the king, the Cappella Palatina, is one of Palermo's exciting sights. The Byzantine mosaics are dazzling, with stained glass inlaid with gold leaves. The church is resplendent and depicts a biblical story that outlines the architectural style that prevailed in Sicily during Norman's reign.
Classic style that has not faded for thousands of years - Byzantium. There are many fields involved in the Byzantine style. For example, the buildings, art works, fashion shows, etc. we saw while traveling have their tracks. Let us unveil the mysterious veil of the Byzantine style of Sicily...

The food in Palermo, Sicily is over the top! The pistachio cannoli are delicious!
Cultural Palermo Sicily
Palermo Sicily has beautiful architecture all around, there are markets with cheap delicious eats and €1 aperol spritz everywhere. Not too far there are mountains to hike or beaches to relax at, you get an all in one with easy travel by bus. The weather is warm as well as the sea and you won’t spend too much here. It has a mix of modern and old culture with many new shops such as zara and H&M as well as beautiful cathedrals and Sicilian markets. Don’t forget some refreshing traditional granita in the hot weather or some delicious cannoli. My personal favourites were the refreshing cactus fruits and the arincina rice Balls stuffed with delicious sauce and cheese battered and deep fried. #italy #sicily #Food

Italy Travel | Sacred Space of Sicily - Palermo Cathedral
Palermo Cathedral, Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹
The Palermo Cathedral was founded in 1185 AD, and the Anglo-Norman Archbishop of Palermo and Minister Walter Ophamil (or Walter Milt) of King William II built this cathedral.
Later, after the Saracens conquered the city, they turned it into a mosque. It was again converted into a cathedral in the Middle Ages, with only some smaller Arab architectural elements surviving today.
The neoclassical style of the church today can be traced back to the twenty years from 1781 to 1801. It was a renovation plan executed by Ferdinando Fuga and Giuseppe Venanzio Marvuglia, and it continued until the 19th century.
The large dome at the top of the main building and the smaller domes and murals covering the aisle ceilings were completed during this period. The top offers a panoramic view of the World Heritage - the blocks of the historic city of Palermo.
Quattro Canti Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Mar)
The intersection of Emmanuel Avenue and Marka Street is a small circular square, which is known as the Four Songs Square, also known as the Four Corner Square. Here is the landmark of Palermo and the city center. The four corners of the central street are curved, and if you look down from the sky, it is a circle. The baroque sculptures of the four building facades are all symmetrical. Each building has three floors. From bottom to top are the fountain sculptures representing the four seasons, the four Spanish kings of Sicily and the four guardians of Palermo.
Look at the corners of the square are people, the stools, the chairs are full of people, even the edge of the flower bed is filled with people, here, nothing, sit For those outside the city, it may be to look at novelty, and as the citizens of this city, it is more to come to the cold, or actively participate in the cultural life of this square.
Via Maqueda
Via Maqueda, along with Via Vittorio Emanuele, one end of Via Maqueda is the Politeama Theatre, and the other end is the central railway station; one end of Via Vittorio Emanuele is the Norman Palace and the cathedral.
Quattro Canti, built between 1608 and 1620, is surrounded by four inwardly curved arc buildings forming an octagonal (almost circular) square. This structure makes it an excellent open-air opera house, hence Quattro Canti is also called Teatro del Sole - Sun Theatre. Street performers perform here almost every day, with excellent sound effects.
