Staff were friendly, informative and the breakfast provided was more than adequate for this brand. This was one hotel where I didn't have to adjust the AC and didn't perspire under a thick duvet cover. Environment friendly thought was everywhere from the wooden doorknob sign to the bathroom amenities. The TV was good with casting ability from your phone. Only thing that didn't work was the alarm clock but who uses that anyway? Definitely a hotel to recommend.

The hotel was newly reopened back then so we were rather excited to visit it. The hotel is located above Paradigm mall which has been opened for years. And most tourist have been hoping for the hotel to be completed. Finally in November 2024 it opened! Though we felt that the buffet spread wasn’t a lot and the seating area might be enough if the hotel is in full capacity. But for the price point, there is not complaining! #malaysia I was over at Sutera mall and decided to hop over to this beautiful cafe called Bawang Cha Ji in Johor Bahru. Which kinda blew my mind how pretty it is compared to typical cafes or stores in JB. It felt like I have step into another world. Almost like in Kyoto. Because it was a Monday the cafe was really quiet too. I would have brought my laptop along next time. While Chagee is still quite expensive in Malaysia, I think if it’s dining in at this cafe, I would gladly pay for the price and environment. Because this cafe is unlike those togo shops. (Cafe is outside the mall.)

They are open everyday from 11am until 10pm, Be sure to try their mille crepe cakes if not you can also order delivery too. It is also a florist shop, and they have cats roaming in the cafe. My favourite memories at this place is when the cats jump up behind my and land on my table and I managed to catch her. The interior of the cafe is so pleasing to the eyes and you can really feel the calmness sitting inside here. This cafe is on the same street as Hako Hotel at Skudai.

On first glance, you would ask yourself why would there be so much youngsters hanging around an old mall like Sutera mall, but you would also quickly realise that they are all heading outside. Right behind Sutera mall is the chill day night market, where you can find shops selling that are from across South east Asia like exotic meat, xxl fried chicken and coconut ice cream just to name a few

This place is located at Sutera at JB- Hock Kee Kopitiam Love the ambiance of this place! This place is so spacious, bright and clean. There are wide variety of food options as well, and I think the prices here are pretty reasonable! I’ve tried quite a bit and will list down what is the must try! 1) Fried mee Siam with Rendang- the fried mee Siam is the best dish out of all from this place! The fried bee hoon is nicely done, not too dry and it’s best to eat with the Sambal! Rendang is good as well, tasty. 2) The charcoal polo bun with kaya. This is nice as well, love the butter in between the bun and the kaya is served at the side, you can dip however much you want. 3) Portuguese egg tart. Can you see how thick is this egg tart? The filling is so smooth and creamy, not too sweet as well, the crust is very crispy. Can taste the layering of the crust. Oh and they also have a wide variety of vegetarian food as well. Bon appetite!

chanced upon this cheap hotel while we were targeting a one night stay near paradigm hotel (1+km away - grab rm5). we paid rm72 for a queen room with window just in case we need to see the weather to prepare what to go out. but the window also serves as a medium for noise to penetrate as our room is on level 1, not too far from the ground level. our neighbour was talking on the phone till 12plus midnight and smoke thereafter came into our room near the connecting door. however the service made it up for these shortcomings as they remembered we asked about the pasam malam last night and checked with us again upon checking out. hairdryer was also available for loan if necessary. #urbanexplorer #境外遊

The hotel is connected to the mall on the ground floor and also has a pool for the little ones to splash around in. The mall is not the largest in JB but is pretty comprehensive in its selection of outlets - aside from the usual bakeries/cafes, and chain stores like Uniqlo, it also has an ice skating rink! There is a dining area at the mall overlooking the rink (reminiscent of Jcube in Singapore). Breakfast is OK in terms of taste though the selection is a little limited. went on a 2 day drive to Skudai to my wife's glass & some nice food in JB. Stayed at Hyatt Place Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall; a nice hotel annex to Paradigm Mall, with nice rooms & decent features. One disappointment however is the breakfast. My advise to other travellers is to avoid their boring breakfast until they improve. The Mall however is pretty large and may take more than a couple of hours to complete. Made my wife's glasses at large spectacle shop on the 2nd floor called Zibo Optics. Good service, friendly staff & competitive pricing went for late lunch after check in at this Bah Kut Teh place just 8 minutes drive away. The steam fish & minced pork Tou Foo took centrestage(see cover photo). Total damage for 3 dishes is RMG85 (The very fresh & well prepared fish (700 grams) alone will probably cost more than double of RMG85 in Singapore Had dinner at this family style restaurant not too far away, abt 12 minutes drive, called Just Seafood. I actually am quite reluctant to introduce this, as it's one of the hidden gems in this area, or even the whole of JB. crabs are very fresh & well prepared.....and imagine having 2 crabs, each abt 500 grams, cooked in different style (we choose Chili crabs & Kum Heong Crab) for RMG108. Next day, after a very mediocre breakfast, we do our final shopping at the Mall, wash car and head back to expensive Singapore 😅😅
