A jaw-dropping boutique hotel in Chiang Mai
There are so-called 'boutique hotels' in many forms and they come with different amenities and styles.
I remember recently staying in a boutique hotel, and I kept thinking 'where's the boutique part? It's all so normal'.
But my last week's stay at Chala Number 6 Boutique Hotel in Chiang Mai was just 'WOW'!
This hotel deserves the title 'boutique' 200%
Everything was so unique and artistic. So beautiful!
Right in Chiang Mai's Old City, surrounded by its countless Thai temples, it is a great location too.
If you are looking for something really 'boutiquelicious', then I highly recommend this hotel 😀

The fascinating white temple of Chiang Rai
Wat Rong Khun, or the White Temple as it’s more commonly known, is easily the most popular attraction in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The Chiang Rai White Temple is a relatively recent addition to the tourist landscape. It was first opened to the public in 1997. It is owned and funded totally by local artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. I had the privilege of meeting him at the temple. As you walk through the grounds there are stunning white statues, decorative fences and other structures that fit beautifully with the white temple.

The marvelous stone angel statues of Bali
Taman means “Park”, Dedari is a Balinese word derived from the Bahasa word Bidadari, meaning “angel”. Not surprisingly, the “Angel Park” – Taman Dedari – offers a green garden with statues of angels (some as tall as ten meters) overlooking the Ayung valley. It is located in the Royal Pita Maha, a resort famous for its elaborate and meticulous carvings. And if the artwork appears out-worldly – the views enjoyed are breathtaking! #trip #travel #Bali #Indonesia #art

Naoshima Art Island - beyond spectacular
I can’t rave enough about how fabulous and serene Naoshima - the main “art island” off the south east coast of Japan - is. I just spent a little over 24 hours there and saw so much incredible art and design - by some of Japan’s most famous contemporary art and design legends (including Yayoi Kusama and Takao Ando) as well as some huge international big hitters (including FOUR pieces by James Turrell). I went in the off season (early February) which was awesome for less crowds but you still need to reserve a few of the galleries in advance, they will sell out for the day even in winter!!! I recommend staying at least one night but if I had my time over I would have stayed 2 nights so it didn’t feel so rushed. I will 100% be returning to Naoshima again just to be there for a few days and soak it all in. This is food for your soul.#art #naoshima #Japan

A building as beautiful as the art it holds.
The Bangkok Art And Culture Center is a huge multi level gallery and exhibition space across the road from the MBK center, accessible from siam & national stadium BTS stations.
The center is free to enter and fully air conditioned, so it’s a good place to cool down and recharge yourself. It has various fixed exhibitions and things that change seasonally, when I went there was exhibitions about tourism, nature & Thailand’s diplomatic relations with the United States.
The lower floors have smaller galleries and small cafes, shops and craft stalls around the escalator banks, you can get everything from sushi to ice cream and offers quite a nice variety of independent options compared to the streets outside.
The main galleries are on the upper levels 7-9, and this is where you can really feel the scale of the building - it is beauifully constructed and the building itself becomes an art exhibit. I was really impressed by the curves of the building, and the walkway snaking around a big open atrium. Looking down you can see all the floors and the windows on the upper levels have great views of central Bangkok.
Worth a visit for art, coffee and air conditioning!

Arts lover must see this! 😍🔥
Welcoming and friendly little gallery showcasing local artists. It was right before preview night for an auction so they were still putting in proper lighting. Cool, warehouse like industrial space. 2 levels. Clean restroom. Small corner dedicated to merchandise.
Spacious art gallery with two separate exhibition spaces. But they still need to learn curatorship, especially how to arrange the exhibits more effectively and afficiency. Sometimes they neglected to think about how visitors and audience view the exhibits.
Huge gallery, new york style, unique and has an attitude. with the chain hanging and the newspaper original printing set are kept intact, its really cool.
Love the gallery. Spacy. Good lighting and always with a new exhibition. The parking is not easy to find out better use public transport.

Artistic Reverie: A Day of Inspiration
#Museum #Gallerys #art In the heart of Manchester, I embarked on a transcendent journey at The Whitworth, a sanctuary of art and creativity that promised a day of artistic immersion and soul-stirring inspiration.
As I stepped into the gallery, I was immediately embraced by an atmosphere of creative energy. The walls adorned with masterpieces seemed to pulse with life, each stroke of the brush and every sculpted contour telling a story of passion and imagination.

The air was filled with the subtle scent of oil paints and the soft murmur of appreciative whispers, creating a sensory experience that transcended the visual realm.
One particular exhibit, bathed in soft natural light, showcased the delicate art of textile and embroidery. Intricate patterns and vibrant colors adorned fabrics, each thread meticulously woven to create a tapestry of cultural richness. It was a testament to the skilled hands that had crafted these textiles, preserving traditions and heritage in every stitch.

The Whitworth had not only showcased art; it had created an environment where art came to life, where inspiration was tangible, and where the boundaries between artist and observer blurred. It was a day of artistic reverie, a journey that left an indelible mark on my creative spirit and a deep appreciation for the boundless
Let's Get Artsy In An Industrial Building
Tanjong Pagar Distripark is an industrial building located next to a historic port. It has different art galleries along with other industrial tenants. Some of the galleries housed here that we were able to visit are Singapore Art Museum, the Gajah Gallery, and 39+ Art Space.
Gajah Gallery is a gallery for Southeast Asian artists and the exhibition we were able to see is of Philippine Art. The gallery is not that big and it’s bare. It’s not intimidating. The current exhibition is relatable as I understand what they want to convey.
Singapore Art Museum is temporarily housed here as it’s actual is building is under redevelopment and will not be open until 2026. The only available exhibition at the time we visited was Proof of Personhood. I honestly think this exhibition is not very casual-visitor-friendly. The message and ideas being conveyed by the whole exhibition about identity amid these times of developing technology is very thought-provoking.
Another gallery we were able to visit is the 39+ Arts Space. I was not able to take photos, but the current exhibition is of Abstract paintings.
Tanjong Pagar Distripark is located at 39 Keppel Road and there’s a bus stop outside the complex.

No. 1 Visual Arts Festival in Singapore
Light to Night Festival is an annual event in Singapore that showcases art and exhibitions from varied disciplines of art including interactive programs and installations. A favorite showcase that I always look forward to is the light projections or illuminations scattered across the civic district. Since the festival is organised by the National Gallery Singapore, the gallery usually offers free entry on weekends with extended opening hours.
We went on a Wednesday night to avoid the weekend crowd. Our first agenda was to sit at the Padang and watch the illumination on the National Gallery itself. We spent a bit of time here since we didn't get to watch the start. Lots of people also bring their mats to chill around here. Every time I watch this, I get reminded of how I would want to have this festival back in my home country also. We then went to the “bubbles” installation and took way too many photos there. The installation worked well with Marina Bay Sands and National Gallery as its backdrops in photos. Another projection we always enjoy is at the Victoria Building since the façade shape is different than usual because of the tower in the middle.
This is one of the festivals I'm always looking forward. Expect me to be there again next year. When going there though, consider going on weekdays as there’s fewer people going around. Also wayfinding won’t be difficult since there are staff usually giving out maps and brochures.

The National Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi is one of Vietnam’s best museums. It tells the history of art in the area and surrounding lands from the prehistoric era until the present day.
