Night Cruise 🛳️on JINJI lake 🌊
Jinji lake tourist site is one place that is a must visit if you are on a trip to Suzhou. The area provides a wide range of activities from strolling🚶♀️ to sightseeing, 🎣,shopping and cruising on the lake as well as some other water activities including jet skiing . The other attractions around the area include Suzhou shopping center🛍️🏬 and the famous trousers building which shows an amazing light performance at night . Taking the night cruise ship shows you that up close as well as let’s you experience the tranquil atmosphere of the lake and the city opposite. I paid 120 RMB 💰for the ticket 🎟️and the whole journey was about 40 minutes. There are other cheaper options during the day in smaller boats .
Overall I give this a 4.5/5 ⭐️rating.

Family friendly - Xipu Shihong Hotel Nanjing
Xipu Shihong Hotel in Nanjing!
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were immediately impressed by its convenient location near the metro station and the fact that it wasn't too far from the international airport.
The hotel's exterior was modern and sleek, and the staff members warmly greeted us as we entered. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which was especially appreciated since we were traveling with two young children. The friendly staff even had a crib set up and ready in our room for our youngest daughter, which made settling in much easier. Our room was clean, spacious, and elegantly decorated with modern furnishings. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom was well-appointed with plush towels and high-quality toiletries.
One of the highlights of our stay at Xipu Shihong Hotel Nanjing was the exceptional level of service provided by the staff. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that our family had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Nanjing.

Ginkgo Water Park
Location : 银杏湖游乐园
This is the best park in Nanjing which has a three in one package. It has a water park , amusement park and garden . There are lots of activities to choose from. Tickets range from 99 RMB for students to around 200 RMB for adults . The park is very huge so I suggest getting an additional ticket for the carts to drive you around the whole park at an affordable 20 RMB per person .
There is also an electric boat ride at 100 RMB an hour for 6 people . There are restaurants around the place as well as snack stalls . Overall the park has a great view of mountains and rivers that is spectacular and worth spending the day at .

Three days in Yangcheng
My family and I recently visited Yancheng for the May holidays, and we were immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the city. The residents were extremely friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
We stayed at the Atour hotel, which was conveniently located near the railway station. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable. We appreciated the helpful staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant experience.
Traveling with young children can be challenging, but we managed to visit a couple of attractions during our stay. Our first stop was Water Street in Yancheng, which was a delightful cultural and scenic spot. We enjoyed learning about the history and traditions of the Haiyan people.
Our next destination was the Dayangwanshengtvyou scenic area, which was a beautiful natural park with stunning views of the mountains. We hiked along the trails, admiring the scenery and taking plenty of photos. Our children enjoyed playing in the sand and camping out for day, and we all had a great time.
Although we only had a few days in Yancheng, we felt like there was so much more to explore and discover. We definitely plan to come back and explore more of the city and its surroundings. Overall, our trip was a wonderful family adventure that we will always remember.

Niushoushan, or Niushou Mountain, with an altitude of 243m, is an emerging attraction in Jiangning District in the southern suburb of Nanjing city. Niushoushan is also known as “Ox Head Mountain” because its East Peak and West Peak face each other in the shape of the two horns of an ox. Niushoushan has long been forgotten by people until Oct 27, 2015 when the world’s only parietal relic of Buddha was put there. A grandiose Buddhism-themed palace was built to place the relic of Buddha. Since then, there have been more and more visitors coming to Niushoushan to worship the Buddha, experience Buddhism culture and marvel at its magnificent architecture. It is a place where both Buddhists and regular tourists can enjoy. If you are planning a trip to Nanjing, you shouldn’t miss it.

A slice of the Venice of the East 🛶🌿✨
Pingjiang Road, 平江路 is one of the best preserved historical street in Suzhou, dating back to the South Song Dynasty. With water canals, bridges, old architecture and cobbled pathways, it retained the characteristics of the classical Jiangnan water village style. In 2005, the street received the Asia Pacific Heritage Award by UNESCO for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Pingjiang Road is pedestrian and narrow, but yet such a charming place to visit in the heart of old Suzhou!
What to do at Pingjiang Road 👇🏼
➡️ Walk along the road and appreciate the beauty of old Chinese architecture and water canals.
➡️ Go on a boat ride 🛶 I found it lovely that the oarsman also sings traditional songs whilst rowing the boat for tourists 🕊
➡️ Try the local cuisine! There are a lot of restaurants around with delish Suzhounese dishes 🍽 as well as local snacks.
➡️ Lots of shops for souvenirs and silk products! Jiangsu province is well-known for its silk production. During Ming and Qing dynasties, high quality products were crafted by silk weavers in Suzhou for royal families. You’ll definitely spot so many of the shops there selling silk dresses, scarfs… etc
➡️ Perfect place to capture glimpses of old China on 📸
How to go 👉🏼 Take metro to Lindun Lu, 临顿路or Xiangmen 相门 🚇 station (both on line 1). It’s located between these stations and takes about 10 mins by walk to reach from either.

Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Liyang - Changzhou
Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Nestled in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, where three provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui border with one another, is a bamboo forest called Nanshan Bamboo Sea, which is a national reserve. It occupies an area of 2,500 hectares.
The bamboo forest is largely unknown to tourists, as the region, a national economic center from 2,000 years ago, boasts too many places of historical interest developed a long time ago. The travel guides' omission of the bamboo forest makes it an ideal fairyland to escape to.
The reserve consists of several valleys and peaks, among which the 500-meter Wudi Peak is the highest in the delta region, covered with dense bamboo forest. The Wudi Peak is accessible through an 800-meter ropeway or a meandering mountain path. It takes about 12 minutes to reach the top of it by ropeway, and one-and-half hours on foot.

Picturesque Canal Street in Suzhou 🛶
Known as The Venice of the East, Suzhou is an amazing city with rich history and lots of attractions to visit. While PingJiang Road is the most popular canal side street of the city, ShangTang Street, located a bit further away in the GuSu District, is another picturesque canal side street that I urge you to add to on your Suzhou bucket list❗️
Shangtang Street has such an authentic feel of the old Chinese lifestyle. It was built during the Tang Dynasty as a transport facility for the upper classes on their way to Tiger Hill. While strolling around, you’ll see locals living by the side of the canals. If you adventure a bit further north, it’s defo more quiet and less crowded. The buildings back onto the canal and are connected by bridges. They have retained their quaint Chinese architecture and are beautifully decorated with lanterns. It’s a pedestrian street which makes it even more exciting as you can explore around freely and check the shops or restaurants there.
Bear in mind that restaurants along the canal are mostly for tourists, thus a bit expensive. I recall paying 32¥ for a fried rice (which wasn’t even worth it) because it was around lunch time and I was starving. Nevertheless I’ve been to Shangtang Street several times and would still recommend it as one of my Suzhou favourites 💯
How to go ➡️ Take metro 🚇 line 2 to Shangtang Jie station (上塘街地铁站). Exit 3 is a few minutes walk to the Canal side pedestrian street.

Biji Alley or Comb Lane - Changzhou
Biji Alley or Comb Lane - is located in the north bank of the canal with 150m length and 4m width, which is in the west of the city.
The ancient Piling courier station had been established here since the fourteenth year of Emperor Zhengde's reign (1519) of the Ming Dynasty. The Comb Lane was originally called the "Flower Market Road". In ancient times, shops selling combs and bijis (biji is a kind of double- edged fine-toothed comb) were arranged in close rows, and most of the shops and workshops along the road were specialized in producing and selling combs.
Hence, there was a proverb saying "as the rouges in Yangzhou and the flowers in Suzhou, Changzhou is the No.1 in comb products". When the Emperor Qianlong visited here during his travelling in South, he changed the name "Flower Market Road" to "Comb Lane" when seeing the great variety of comb shops, which has still been in use today. The oldest "Old Bu Hengshun Comb Shop" in the lane was opened in the Emperor Tianqi's reign of the Ming Dynasty. Its combs won multiple awards at home and abroad, and have been highly praised by foreign friends in numerous large-scale exhibitions, thus becoming best-selling souvenirs in domestic and overseas markets.
The Palace Museum has still kept the Changzhou combs produced in the Qing Lane" Dynasty up to now.

Liyang Museum - Liyang - Changzhou
Liyang Museum - The curvaceous, aluminium-clad form of Liyang Museum in China was designed by architecture practice CROX to represent the sound made by a traditional musical instrument.
The building consists of an aluminium blob siting on top of an undulating form topped with grass, beside a lake in Liyang, a district of Changzhou.
Two paths lead to the museum. One, an extension of the paved pathway that wraps around the site, leads into an underground lobby dug into the hill itself via an entrance facing out to the lake and surrounded by a white-rendered concrete portal.
Another entrance is accessed via a large wooden stairway that follows the slope of the green hill.
This path leads up into a shaded courtyard beneath the museum
