Epic Trail 5 Hike
Trail 5 begins at the end of Margalla Road, where there is a parking lot and trail information including a map at the start. There is a guard that will make sure you are not bringing disposable packages treats inside with you because of an anti-littering initiative. Better to bring fruit or reusable packages for your trail energy boosts. it starts with a wide open easy trail which will lead to some beautiful streams and a little waterfall. after the waterfall the trail gets real. The further you follow it up, the more challenging it will be. phone service is spotty so I took a picture of the map at the start of the trail which really helped when we were at the top and wanted to find a different route back to civilization. There’s a point where the trail branches off three ways. The one in front is a very challenging trail to proceed further up the mountain. On a rock someone labeled the left route “to Monal” which is the restaurant off of trail 3. If you continue this trail it will bring you to the road down the mountain and there were a few taxis there which can take you down to town or to Monal Restaurant. I have hiked trail 3 also, and this is the most beautiful and fun trail of the two. Beautiful scenery, fragrant trees and herbs, and even a monkey sighting. it was probably the best day of my Islamabad adventure!

Celebrating Y2022 at the Everest Base Camp
Ever imagine a trip to Mt. Everest Base Camp located approximately 5300m above sea level? Well, make sure to have an oxygen tank ready with you to help you breathe. Tested my luck at the EBC this new year holiday and voilà! Sunny and bright all day everyday as I got steps closer to the camp. Hoping to try out for a real hike up on the peaks one day when the weather gets a bit warmer.
