Kopi Panglima
#malaysia #ipoh #cafe to visit in Concubine Lane. The aunty outside will be calling us to enter. It's a nice place to chill after tiring legs if you are walking around the city. Located at the end corner of concubine lane: 24 Concubine Ln;
I found this place bring the vibe of kampong spirit, with its tingkat and sarong decor plus the bricks and stairs. Tried their Kopi tiga negara which is super refreshing, rice noodle curry, mushroom chicken bao, prawn siew mai, and seaweed chicken for the price of RM 53.6;
Curry is rich of flavour while the dimsum is not that good. Recommend you to just skip the dimsum and try the local food and kopi here! 😋
Culture Clocked In at Ipoh
Qing Xin Ling Leisure & Cultural Village is a scenic spot
that opens from 9.30am to 5pm. It is located about 20mins from ipoh town, address: 22A, Persiaran Pinggir Rapat 5a, Taman Saikat, 31350 Ipoh, Perak) and requires a small entrance fee
There are free bicycles (family kind) to borrow and ride around this cultural village once you enter the entrance of the park.
The park consists of old houses, old street stalls, mural paintings on the little houses thar depicts of the traditional and lifestyle back then.
There are also antique collections, a wishing tree and lakes and caves to explore for a photo or two.
Walking through this village certainly reminded me of our tradition roots which brought a sense of pure joy and tranquility. Had a culture clocked in, for sure.

20 degree summer at Cameron Highland
#malaysia #highland #ipoh #cameronhighland
We took a short weekend break to Cameron Highland in Malaysia to enjoy the amazing chilling weather, great food and nature. We stayed in this beautiful Lakehouse hotel, and designs of the house is everything I love. Everything works perfectly, the service is great, and even though it’s not far from the road, it’s overall quiet in the evening during our stay. 😊 Looking forward to go back!!
Artworks Hotel, Ipoh
I got the chance to stay one night at Artworks Hotel, Ipoh. It is a 3-star hotel with affordable price. This hotel situated at a great location. It is near to Gerbang Malam and Pasar Loken (5 min drive). Basically it is not far to go anywhere from this hotel. Grab is also easy to find. The hotel has a lot of parking bays despite it is only 3-star hotel. There's even a guard outside the hotel taking care of your car at night. For the room I love it. I came here cause I had to do my work and all rooms come with desk and chair. Even the wifi was great. Not much of tv channels but not a problem for me.
My suggestion is to add more variety to the breakfast choice (delicious but choice are too limited). Also, the hotel has like some kind of smell (macam bau lama). Might want to use some perfume or essential oil to get rid of the smell. I definitely will come back again :)

Two hours driving from Kuala Lumpur, Kek Look Tong is one of the most well-preserved and well-maintained cave temples in Ipoh. Since 1920, the case has been used to worship by Buddhist and the given name means The Greatest Happiness in Mandarin.
As 1 of the popular tourist spot in Ipoh, it offers free entrance to everyone to enjoy the beautiful limestone hill and the spectacular view of the cave. Passing through the cave, there are a lot of Buddhist sculptures and a lake for paddle boat ride. Whoever interested, you may pay for the ride at RM 20 (4 pax).

Cosy Bookstore In A Old Historical Bank
This is one of my favorite bookstores located at Ipoh and it is an interesting bookstore as previously it is an old historical bank. While visiting the bookstore, you can notice the bookstore management retaining the previous bank's vaults and safety deposits. It brings a totally different and unique experience! Most importantly the bookstore offers worthy photogenic spots for us to post on social media platforms.

Ipoh Railway
Heritage centre where it's a transportation hub between city. I took the train from butterworth Penang towards Ipoh. The journey take about 1 hour 40 minutes. If you purchase platinum ticket, the train does not stop at many stations, but if its gold ticket, train will stop at many stations.
Ticket should be purchased days before otherwise it can be fully booked especially during public holiday. Trip to Ipoh is worth for a day touring around and discover this small city in Malaysia. Not to forget, go and eat good food!

An Abandoned Castle in Malaysia
About 20 km from Ipoh city center, there is a beautiful abandoned castle. It was built by a Scottish planter, named William Kellie-Smith. The castle has four floored building. But during the construction in 1926, William Kellie-Smith died of penumonia and the castle was never completed and left abandoned. Now, Kellie's Castle has become one of favorite tourist attraction. Getting there is abit tricky. There is no public transportation to the castle. So the only transportation you can find is online taxi booking or maybe you can also rent a car. The entrance fee is RM 15 for foreigners. Oh, did I mention that on the second floor, there's a ghost cloister balcony? Yup, a lot of people said that it's a haunted castle. There is a story of an Europian couple from Canada who came here to photograph nocturnal creatures, and the woman saw a man standing, looking out the window. Aside from some spooky stories, this castle is hard to resist. The view is so beautiful. So, are you still wanted to go to this castle?

Cave Temple in the Middle of Limestone Mountains
I think Ipoh is one of underrated city in Malaysia. If you come to Ipoh by car or bus, you will know that the city is mesmerizing, surrounded by the limestone mountains. It looks like in Avatar the movie. Not too far from city center, there is a beautiful caves temple, named Kek Lok Tong. It's approximately 15 – 20 minutes ride from city center. I got there by online taxi booking for about RM 12. It opens from from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. When I arrived, I saw a lot of seniors were coming in group. Then I entered the temple, and I realized that this temple has a hassle-free access. At the back of the temple, you'll find a lake and river that makes this place even prettier. You can take a paddle boat for RM 12 within 30 minutes ride.

1 of the best Ipoh Dimsum restaurant!
1 of the better dim sum restaurants in Ipoh. Gets really crowded quick. And stays crowded throughout the entire morning.
Grab your queue number first before anything else. We waited for about 30mins for a table of 6. Would presume that is rather fast already.
There is a good variety of dim sums. Everything was good. Really loved the ice white coffee which was brewed and packaged in bottles. The crispy dim sums were on point especially the beancurd skin prawn roll. The Fei Cui Liu Sha bao is damn good also, the kaya complemented the salted egg lava perfectly.
Last but not least, service staff were quite attentive and quick to assist with our orders.

Coffeeshop located in a cave?!
It is more of a kopitiam by the cave instead of in the cave. Get a queue number first and wait for number to be called. There are seats and benches placed under shelter for the wait. Was there at about 10am and waited for about 20 mins for a table of 5.
Had the iced white coffee which was fragrant and slightly sweet. Dishes we ordered were kaya butter toasts, butter sugar toasts, kaya toasts, prawn rolls, fried wantons and fried rice.
We all agreed that other than the fried rice, the rest of the dishes were good. Fried rice is slightly disappointing as it is more of a fried shallot rice without wok hei.
5 stars still given for this place as it is still a nice tourist experience and food is not bad. Service staffs were efficient.#ipoh #ipohcafe #foodie

Breakfast @ Impiana Hotel 😉
Due to early flight arrival and room only able ready at 11am, then let’s explore the buffet breakfast at Impiana Hotel Ipoh.
The breakfast are simple and most of local food, however, is delicious and good try. But for the pastries have to improve which the bread is quite hard and kuih muih is good taste.
Hotel room are big enough but a slightly old modern and some of the power switch might not function well but still can be managed.
The hotel pool are crowded in the morning and thereafter is free and empty.

Beautiful temple set in a cave
🌄 The temple was set in a limestone cave with many Buddha sculptures.
It is a well-maintained and peaceful temple. The moment you stepped into the entrance, you can feel the cool temperature compared to the heat outside.
It is worth exploring the cave and the stone formation. You can also walk around the garden where there is a Koi pond. There is also a reflexology path which is the longest in Ipoh for you to explore.

Nice boutique hotel in a historic building
Address - 12 Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Ipoh
This boutique hotel consists of 11 rooms in a historic building, right in the middle of Ipoh town.
If you are looking for a heritage stay, this might be the one.
The room we booked is called Malaysian Honeyguide and it used to be a family quarter for a goldsmith shop next to the bank.
Every room here has different configuration and comes with different names.

Built in a limestone cave
This is Ipoh’s oldest temple built within natural limestone cave. Nestled among nature, you can see monkeys, waterlily in fish pond at this temple.
Your visit here can be just walking around the garden, cave and its tunnel.
Be careful when it is raining as the floor can be slippery.
Worth to engage a driver to reach this place as it is not very accessible by public transport.

Impressive Castle built by a devoted husband
Kellie’s castle is located in Batu Gajah, Perak, Malaysia and it is known as a symbol of love ❤️
For a thrill seeker, this castle is also known as the haunted Scottish mansion.
Its history is very intriguing. The construction of the mansion started in 1910 and the plan of construction was impressive with 14 rooms and even an elevator with underground tunnels.
Come and explore this castle with friends and it takes around 1.5 hours to complete.

Ipoh Old Town is a quiet and laid back town with many small lanes to explore.
I love the architecture of these buildings here. The whole lane was decorated with colourful umbrellas hovering overhead.
There are many wall murals which present photo-taking opportunities.
It is lovely to see the old charms remained in this old town and this is a must-visit if you are in Ipoh.
