📍 Guanqian (Chayuanchang Subway Station 2 Southeast Entrance & Exit Pedestrian 410 Meters), Gusu, Suzhou, Jiangsu
✨ After our visit to Shantang Street, our quest for dinner led us to Guanqian Street, guided by my friend's recommendation of a beloved restaurant from her past. Regrettably, we found it had permanently closed. Nonetheless, Guanqian Street, a commercial hub, welcomed us with a myriad of dining options and shopping opportunities, ranging from local gems to luxury brands. As night descended, the street burst to life, offering a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Amidst the hustle and bustle, we also had the chance to explore the Xuanmiao Temple and nearby pavilions, adding a cultural dimension to our unforgettable evening. ✨

Suzhou Center boasts a vast mall filled with dining and shopping choices. During our visit, we decided to indulge in Thai/Vietnamese cuisine, where outdoor dining offered fantastic views. Expect a quick queue during meal hours, but the food is worth it, transporting your taste buds to distant lands. And for dessert lovers, Haagen-Dazs is the perfect ending to your culinary journey. Suzhou Center is a gastronomic haven, promising a memorable dining experience with diverse options. 🤩

📍 Heishu Barbecue: Xinggang Street 158-103-2, Wuzhong, Suzhou, Jiangsu
Arriving late in Suzhou and staying at Citadines Apartment Hotel, just a short walk from the Gate of the Orient and Suzhou Center. As the mall had closed for the night, we explored the area and stumbled upon a charming restaurant near the Gate of the Orient, though its name escapes me now. The flavors were unforgettable, but when we returned in June, it was closed; I hope it's a temporary closure. Luckily, Heishu Barbecue next door came to the rescue with mouthwatering barbecue dishes, perfectly complemented by a refreshing beer.

Shantang street (山糖街) is an old street with canals in Suzhou, China.
When I was in Shanghai, my friend and I took a day trip to Suzhou and she brought me to Shantang Street on a weekend. Oh myyy the street was so crowded, it was difficult to walk on the narrow streets… Therefore, we went into 江醪糟, the first dessert place we saw to escape from the crowd. I have to say the dessert is very refreshing and hydrating, it rejuvenated us for sure.
We then spent our evening just walking on the streets, exploring, taking pictures and eating random street food.
I definitely recommend visiting this famous old street if you are in Shanghai as it takes approx 30 minutes by train!!!
For visitors without a Mainland Chinese phone number, it would be difficult to get tickets online. Therefore, I do recommend going to the train station early and getting tickets at the ticket office.
Although Suzhou and Shanghai are both cities in Mainland, they do check your ID and passports so remember to bring them along with you.
There are security screenings at the train station so please arrive early for your train. Also note, in Mainland they do not use physical train tickets but they put a record in your IDs, so they screen your IDs at the gate again. Gates close 5 minutes before your train so do not be too last minute.

Night Cruise 🛳️on JINJI lake 🌊
Jinji lake tourist site is one place that is a must visit if you are on a trip to Suzhou. The area provides a wide range of activities from strolling🚶♀️ to sightseeing, 🎣,shopping and cruising on the lake as well as some other water activities including jet skiing . The other attractions around the area include Suzhou shopping center🛍️🏬 and the famous trousers building which shows an amazing light performance at night . Taking the night cruise ship shows you that up close as well as let’s you experience the tranquil atmosphere of the lake and the city opposite. I paid 120 RMB 💰for the ticket 🎟️and the whole journey was about 40 minutes. There are other cheaper options during the day in smaller boats .
Overall I give this a 4.5/5 ⭐️rating.

To the Hamptons! Hampton by Hilton i.e
I needed a place to stay for awhile and decided to sleep at Hampton by Hilton. I’ve never tried this chain before and well, it is pretty standard, given that I chose a standard room. Outside of that reason, still standard and I’ll tell you why.
The breakfast menu isn’t western at all and that was the reason I chose to stay here because one of the reviews said they had good options for western breakfasts. There is a breakfast buffet but I didn’t get much, as it was mostly oily Asian food. Nothing is wrong with that should it be your preference but I don’t want anything oily so early in the morning (breakfast is from 7-10AM). As was stated, it’s a buffet so I did not choose anything I didn’t want. There was fruit and the cupcakes were good with some orange juice. The OJ however, tasted like it had dishwashing liquid in it. Now I don’t know if this came from the cup or the container the juice was in but I didn’t want to play detective and find out.
The carpet in the hall on my floor had a large stain which, when you’re heading to your room is the first thing you see. It doesn’t leave you with a good impression. This is one of the older Hampton by Hiltons I could tell. I’ve seen newer ones from previous cities but never stayed there. At this one, I really just wanted some place to stay before I went on, I didn’t book it for the experience-just for a comfy bed plus breakfast. High praises for the former, wish I could say the same for the latter.
The view of the room was good. I enjoyed sitting by the window at nights and taking in the lights and passing cars below while I ate. If you’re sharing a room, for privacy’s sake, the toilet space has a door which is separated from the shower so that’s a plus. If you need to order takeout, just have it delivered to the hotel and let the front desk know. They will then arrange for it to be delivered to your room using one of those rectangular robots. Please note when the robot is at your door, you will get a call with an automated message, it’s not reception-it’s the robot telling you to open the door. (Don’t speak a wink of Chinese and upon it calling about 3 times, I finally figured out it was outside. I kept wondering why each call is repeating the same sentences over and over) That robot was very charming to me.
On the day of checking out, the receptionist gave me a silk scarf 🧣 as a gift to thank me for my stay. I’m sure it’s nothing expensive but I do appreciate it.
My preferences aside, perhaps it’s a good or okay hotel for you. If you made it this far in the review, drop a comment for questions related to the stay.

苏州一日游 One day trip in Suzhou🏮❤️
Here’s a tip for everyone if you happen to be in Shanghai and would like to travel to another district, I would strongly suggest you may take a 3 days 2 nights trip to Suzhou! (Trust me, 1 day trip is not enough 🥹)
The buildings and atmosphere in Pingjiang and Shantang street is very comforting especially during the sunset. The streets are full of street food and famous restaurants such as milk tea shop, crab noodle/rice, traditional dessert and many more. Put aside the crowd, it is a good place for a short trip in China ✨
If you would like to avoid the crowd, do consider weekdays! It would be more comfortable to stroll around with lesser crowd, of course less heat! It is super hot during summer, so bring along sunscreen, hat and umbrella. ☀️
It is also easy to get to Suzhou as you can travel with high speed railway in less than 30mins from Shanghai. The ticket is easily purchasable from online. I bought the ticket from Trip and it is easily redeem with my passport.
So, put Suzhou as one of your travel list!
Until next time Suzhou ❤️

Mesmerizing sunset at the Shihu Lake, Suzhou
This is my second visit to this beautiful place. Not so far from the city (about 30 mins drive). Observing sunset here would be a memorable experience for anyone. There are many restaurants with bars, coffee shops around the lake. Drinking or sipping coffee by the lake during sunset is the most common activity here. 'SUHOU' is one of the restaurants that most people prefer to go to because of its enchanting decoration and location. Foods and drinks are at a reasonable price. For a thrilling or romantic (depends on who you are with) experience, You can take a paddling boat for an hour with 80 RMB and drive around the lake within the designated area. Overall, Shihu lake is a recommended place for couples or family get together.

Roaring Beauty: Exploring Lion Grove Garden
I visited Lion Grove Garden in Suzhou and was transported to a serene world of winding paths, trickling water, and majestic rock formations resembling lions. The Fantastic Fangta, Changshu
Many times I had the desire to check inside this iconic Fangta tower but never had the chance. Finally, I made it. visiting Fangta Tower and taking beautiful pictures there would be an incredible experience. From the tower's intricate designs to the lush landscapes surrounding it, there are endless opportunities for stunning photography. The tower's rich history and cultural significance only add to the beauty of the experience, making it a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates ancient architecture and natural beauty. It is big inside so, don't be fool by its outside look.
By the way, there is a noodle shop outside the main entrance (right side). See the last picture. If you would like to try local noodles, this is the best in the city so far I found. There are many choices. Try `Dry Fish Noodles` (Baoyu Mian) which is served with handmade noodles with soup and dry fish. You can add egg fry and some toppings (ginger and coriander) Thank me later 😋😂

The official name is Gate of the East, also known as the Gate of the Orient, is the second tallest building in Suzhou, behind Suzhou IFS. It is intended to be a symbol of a gateway to the city which emphasizes the city's continuing significance in modern China.
The area beside the building has a gigantic shopping mall with many floors inside and out. Lots to explore in this excellent Chinese city.

Get lost in this Suzhou garden!
Lion Forest Garden is one of Suzhou's most famous landmarks. I'm on a mission to explore all of Suzhou's gardens so was excited to cross this one off the list.
Lion Forest Garden is quite a large garden, and it may not be the most picturesque Garden in Suzhou, but it is certainly the most fun.
The main part of the garden is a huge stone maze with different paths intersecting eachother, it really is incredible. You can easily spend an hour getting lost among all the rock formations, a great place for a huge game of hide and seek!

Autumn colours at Tianping Mountain 🧡
Ask any local where to go during autumn in Suzhou and they'll tell you Tianpingshan. The base of the mountain is full of colourful foliage that really complement the beauty of the temples and buildings there.
It's very popular as the trees change so get ready for some crowds and vendors. It is not worth climbing up the mountain as the autumnal trees are all around the main tourist area. The view from the top is nothing special and very crowded and more dangerous to traverse in the autumn.

Zhouzhuang - The Ancient Beauty!
Zhouzhuang ancient town is huge! There are lots of things to see, do and enjoy. Expect to spend at least 2 days if you really want to get everything in. You can find souvenirs, artists and painters of all kind (I got my name written on a grain of a rice and placed in a necklace). It was pretty cool to me even though a bit pricey-ish; I paid 80+ yuan but hey, I wanted to be a tourist 😅. The boat rides are awesome too, very relaxing gives and you an eyeful of the place. I'd say visit if you're ever in Suzhou. #travelinspiration #suzhou #mytripvlog #awesomepic #tripblazers
Suzhou - The place to go!
Ping Jiang Road is a must see in Suzhou. The scenery is calm giving an ancient vibe with plenty of shops to get gifts, souvenirs and food. It is a huge area so expect to get some good steps in if you want to explore every inch. After all that walking though, you cannot leave without trying the fish! Lol I think that was the best part of the trip for me, it has a sweet and sour flavour and boneless 😋. All in all, this is a great place to visit plus it's surroundings.

The Lion Forest Garden in Suzhou
My family and I visited the Lion Forest Garden over the spring festival, and it was very busy, as one would expect over the holidays. However, it was very difficult navigating through the caves with children and a stroller, as the caves are quite narrow and the stairs are very steep. It's best to take a baby carry bag but even so, one has to be extremely careful when going up and down the narrow and steep stairs.
The lion forest garden is absolutely beautiful with so much history and great architecture.
The entrance fee to the park is 30 yuan per person. Keep in mind
