Located in Putrajaya, Malaysia's new administrative center, the Pink Mosque is three-quarters built on Lake Brat. It's also known as the "Floating Mosque." Its pink granite roof creates a striking visual effect. Construction of the mosque began in 1997 at a massive cost, and it can accommodate 15,000 people. Its exterior is a vibrant pink, a beautiful color, constructed largely of rose marble. It boasts nine domes, each reaching a height of 50 meters. The mosque consists of three main parts: the prayer hall, the minaret, and the mausoleum. The hall's roof resembles an open umbrella, composed of 49 arches of varying sizes arranged in 18 radiating starbursts. The minaret's spire is shaped like a rocket, and the entire structure stands 73 meters tall. An elevator and stairs lead to the top. All visitors must dress modestly and avoid revealing content. Loud noises and smoking are prohibited within the mosque. Both men and women can receive a free red or blue robe at the entrance and wear it. They are also required to wear a hat, and women are advised not to expose their hair. Staff will be on hand to remind them to do so. Shoes must also be removed and placed on the designated shoe rack. Just remember where you put them. Upon entry, staff will provide a free explanation. Photography is prohibited inside the prayer hall; please strictly adhere to this rule. The mosque is divided into two floors: the second floor can accommodate 4,000 women, while the lower floor can accommodate 8,000 men. The mosque is designed to be environmentally friendly. The prayer hall is spacious and features 12 pillars. Each pillar has a vacuum-cooled center. During hot weather, air is drawn up from the lake floor by a motor, creating a slightly cooler atmosphere. The mosque also has an auditorium that seats 380 people and two classrooms, suitable for lectures and classes. For those hungry, there's a mosque restaurant that serves meals and can also be used for religious events.
