#0yentravel Shin-Yubari Station is located on the Sekisho Line, and was once the junction of the Yubari branch line. When I visited, I was impressed by the contrast between being in a quiet mountain valley and being a stop for express trains. The station building was small, and there were few signs of people around, making it a somewhat lonely place. Now that the line to Yubari has been abolished, standing on the platform thinking about its vestiges, I couldn't help but feel the changing role of railways and the reality of rural areas.

Yubari Melo Roadside Station is located in front of Shin-Yubari Station in Yubari City, Hokkaido. Yubari City is the only town in Japan designated as a financial reconstruction body due to financial bankruptcy, but in contrast to the station's deserted appearance, the roadside station is bustling with tourists and tour bus groups. The specialty is melon, and melon parfaits and luxurious bread made from two melon breads to imitate real melons are on sale.
