Sophie's trip to Kyushu, Japan | Terakoya Honpo Terakoya Honpo is an old shop specializing in senbei rice crackers. It is located all over Japan. This time we went to the shop in Mamedamachi, an old street in Hita City, Kyushu. I didn't expect that a piece of senbei could have so many flavors, including sesame, shichimi powder (spicy), seaweed, yuzu, etc. Each piece is about 120 to 150 yen, about 7 to 9 yuan. The size of each piece is much larger than Want Want Senbei. I bought the Kyushu Yufuin yuzu pepper flavor. It was freshly baked, very hot and fresh. I broke off a small piece and it had a strong rice aroma and was hard and crispy. The store owner said that senbei is a mixture of rice and glutinous rice baked together, and is particularly crispy and fragrant. If you like it, you can buy some as a souvenir. Take a stroll in the quiet old street of Mameda-cho with a piece of senbei in hand, watch the sunset and eat senbei, this is how a foodie’s trip should be.

This is an old shop specializing in eel rice, and it is also a popular online shop. There are three ways to eat their eel rice: the first is the original flavor; the second is to add radish sauce and yuzu sauce to eat, the taste is a bit spicy; the third is to add mustard sauce and the store's special tea to eat, it is another flavor. In short, the portion is quite large, and I ate a lot.

The ramen tastes pretty good. The ramen I ordered had several slices of char siu on it and was quite thick, but it was very tender. You can choose the softness or hardness of the noodles according to your personal preference. The soup is quite salty and my mouth is quite dry after drinking it.

B-speak cake is a must-try when you come to Yufuin. When I went to buy it in the afternoon, the small and chocolate flavors were sold out, so I bought the large original Swiss roll. It was soft and moist, not dry or greasy, and airy. The cream was also great, not sweet, I liked it!

A favorite Western-style fast food restaurant with many lovely desserts. The bread is baked very soft and delicious, the cream of mushroom soup is sweet and delicious, and the vegetable salad is quite satisfactory. A very loving restaurant, I like it very much.

Master Kengo Kui's work ☕️ Dazaifu Starbucks Internet celebrity concept store 👣 Fukuoka is not a popular, relatively slow-paced and livable city. Compared with the hustle and bustle of Osaka, I prefer to explore slowly in such a city. 😿 I didn't know that I could pass by this store on the way to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. It was only after my brother reminded me that I realized that I had encountered an Internet celebrity attraction. The seats in the store were almost full, and I barely found a seat for two. My brother went to queue up to order coffee, and he didn't come back too late. Hehe, in the store, drinking coffee is secondary, mainly to appreciate the design of the store and take a break at this time. ⛱ Dazaifu Starbucks is said to be "one of the top ten most beautiful and creative Starbucks stores in the world." Designed by the master Kengo Kui, it is inspired by the traditional Japanese wooden toy Cidori (thorn fruit, known as Luban lock in China), connecting Japanese tradition and modernity. It does not require any nails or metal accessories and is made of more than 2,000 crossbars. ✨Kengo Kui once said: "The new use of traditional craftsmanship does not show a sense of uniqueness or self-proclaimed nobleness, but an atmosphere that can be more integrated into life. Each woven wooden strip structure connects the seemingly weak but actually solid connection, releasing a new breath for the space, bringing back the humanity and locality given by the environment. The coffee tastes the same, but the space is more charming." His design is never limited to the building itself, but focuses more on the relationship between the building and humans and nature, and tries to find a rich and solid connection between the building and its location. On the one hand, his architectural concept is oriental, pursuing simplicity and nature with Zen interest, and on the other hand, he focuses on reshaping natural materials, and uses materials (such as bricks, tiles, wood chips, and glass blocks) to allow the building and the environment of the site to coexist peacefully. The above is some information I have summarized after searching for some information! There are still quite a lot of people coming here! It can be said that it is a must-visit place on the way to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine! (Location) Detailed address: 3-2-43, Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture (Alarm clock) Business hours: 08:00-20:00 (Money) Average consumption per person: 30+

Recommended by Yufu Mabushikoshi, which is on the must-eat list. It is Kamameshi and handmade soba noodles. The store will send hot soup for cooking soba noodles. After eating, add hot water for cooking noodles to the dipping sauce. It is very delicious soba soup (そばゆ). Don't be too surprised when the store sends you water for cooking noodles. This is how to eat soba noodles in Japan.
