A proper country pub in a lovely village. The calves liver was the star for me &ndash; cooked just right, still pink and tender inside. The mash it came with was spot on too. A solid, satisfying meal.

The lamb and mint pie was good, generous filling. Sat outside which was pleasant. Service was attentive, though there was a bit of a wait for the bill.
