TheForkUserThis was our first to this restaurant. It was really good. The interior was amazing. We loved the fact that the chef visits your table with the steak to explain the piece you have chosen. It was then cooked immaculately. The food was amazing.

TheForkUserThis was a wonderful meal from start to finish! The Bergerac white wine paired perfectly with our dishes. Our starters, foie gras for me and sweetbreads in an amazing mushroom casserole for my husband, were delicious. We both had the sea bass for the main course and it too was delicious. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasty, but we couldn’t finish them after all the great food that came before. Excellent, attentive service. No rushing. A beautiful evening! Mercí beaucoups!

TheForkUserThe menu was very reasonably priced, the food beautifully cooked and presented. The service was courteous and efficient and the ambience very conducive to a relaxing lunch. We are regular visitors to Angoulême and we will definitely return. Highly recommended.

TheForkUserLe Moulin du Roc is in an idyllic position on a pretty river. We were entertained by dancing damsel flies, the ones Rossetti describes as ‘like a blue thread loosened from the sky’, and a passing kingfisher zooming up and down. The service is professional and friendly; our waitress who did an impeccable job also advised me on how to germinate acer seeds! As for the food, it is classic French haute cuisine with imaginative details; strawberries with pea mousse, and savoury sorbets, for example. Everything delicious and attractively presented. Can’t wait till the next time.

TheForkUserFood is great, but last night they were not paying attention. At first they couldn’t find my reservation. They forgot my coke and I had to ask a second time. No biggie. Then they forgot the mozzarella on my pizza. I had to send it back to get it. Then my husband and I got dessert, a waffle to split, and they forgot the crème chantilly. They made no attempt to make this right. Which is disappointing because their food is excellent and in 4 years of being a loyal customer this was my first bad experience. But when you repeatedly mess up, you should try to be commerçant.

TheForkUserWe were very pleased to visit this restaurant. The food was great very savory and generous. The staff is welcoming and always smiling. As for the atmosphere, the setting is very cozy, in the middle of the garden under a beautiful tent. Very heartwarming. A must try if you re visiting Limoges.

TheForkUserAs you would expect, the service was impeccable with knowledgeable and attentive staff. The ambience was calming and comforting, with that hushed, unrushed atmosphere, soft lighting, plush carpets, warm and deep colours in a classic building that is also a hotel. The vodka martini was excellent and so were the wines selected for the 7 course degustation menu that we opted for. However, we were not able to give full marks for this Michelin star restaurant. We each had a plate that didn't quite meet the quality that we might have expected, but that could be an issue of taste. Overall the plates were great expressions of flavour with a delicate penchant towards the sea: oysters, shellfish, fish, but also a plate of veal. The comparison we often come back to is The Grove in Auckland, New Zealand and it was the same this time: the Grove's 5 course degustation was more innovative, a little more daring, more explorative with flavours, contrasts and textures. So our recommendation would be: go bolder, surprise the customer in addition to delivering that pleasing, high end experience - We wish you all the best and many thanks for a lovely evening.
