What travelers say:
We had a fantastic view and ambience was quiet and peaceful. We had received a $200.00 gift voucher for a 40th anniversary present and we were able to have 4 beers, a cocktail, 4 share plates and a desert and we still had $28.00 leftover. The food was served quickly and tasted amazing. We will definitely be going back and taking friends and family with us. You can get a 10% discount immediately by scanning the code in the menu and adding the digital card to your wallet. Great Value.

I failed to appreciate that only bar snacks were available at Sunday lunchtime. I was initially disappointed that there was no a la carte menu. However the bar snack food was very good, the location looking over north, west and south Newcastle on a sunny afternoon was excellent. Great place for a bit of food and drink.
The venue is spectacular and the staff were lovely. The food options were uninspiring, not least since they nearly all included meat but even our meat eating friends when we went on the previous weekend elected not to eat the cocktail bar nibbles as nothing appealed, I would have expected some nice shareable meat free options like potato, cheese & spinach pastries or at least a cheese board without meat on it. Shame cause the cocktails were wonderful both times and both times we went to eat elsewhere
Beautiful views of Newcastle but unfortunately the table we booked for 3 people was stuck in a corner and was only suitable for 2 people. The booth like seats were uncomfortable & the table too small to accomodate the food & drinks. We did request to move to a space more adequate for 3 people but were told we could not, even though in the entire 2hrs we were there no one else was sitting at the larger booth or seats.
Sadly we hoped this would live up to a sophisticated bar with style, class, and legitimate 5 star service. We found it to be the opposite - the Romberg bar feels like a waiting room for those waiting to eat in their restaurant. The service was sterile and unfriendly - I expected classy and chic and felt it was basic, overrated and definitely over priced for what it is ($24 for sparkling water!!) It’s a small, tired space they tried to make work. It’s sad that this venue couldn’t meet the mark they’re trying for. Won’t be back.
