Apparently, it's not cooked the same way depending on the region. We were just expecting a taste of Indian spices. (The sauce is more orange in some Indian restaurants. Here it was red.) 🤭 It was still good. The boys liked their dishes 👍🏼 The waitress was very kind 👍🏼

SophiaI saw it on the road on the way back from Place des Terrestrials to Place Blanche. Seeing how elegant the facade was, I decided to go in and give it a try. It turned out that this is the legendary oldest café in Lyon. Since there were so many people, I had to wait for the waiter to finish. We were not served until other tables were served, and we waited for 15 minutes to take our order. I was supposed to have a coffee, but I didn’t have the desire to drink coffee at night, so I had a glass of white wine, Lyon’s famous fish cakes with cheese sauce, crispy chicken with milk sauce and penne with tomato sauce. Fish cakes are a famous Lyonnais dish, made from sea fish. Mince the fish meat, add flour and make it into a large piece. It's a bit like our fish sausage, but softer and smoother. It has a bit of fishy smell. The fishy smell can be covered up by dipping it in the fragrant cheese sauce. Just give it a try, anyway. I think it's average. The crispy chicken tastes very salty, and you really need to cook a lot of white rice. The penne with tomato sauce is not too special, and the portion is quite large, but at least the pasta eaten in France is cooked quite soft, and there is no raw-like center. . A meal costs 85 euros, so it is better to drink coffee in a cafe.

TheForkUserMore people this weekend, hence the service was a little slower but efficient. And the stew was a little less tasty for me (fewer mushrooms perhaps and the meat a little firmer, but my wife disagrees...). I know the dishes can be different, but that's not a criticism in itself.

TheForkUserDuring a holiday to Lyon we tried this café mostly for its proximity to our apartment, however we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and they made wine pairing suggestions which were on point. The menu is simple but the flavours and food quality are very nice. Recommended!

TheForkUserStaff friendly and professional, Parking available with staff who can park it for you. Food is very good, view is amazing even if you cannot book a specific table, which means no guarantee to seat at the view window. But view is anyway nice, probably one of the best in Lyon.
