L'Essenza Bistrot

TheForkUserL’Essenza Bistrot is a very nice small restaurant in the historic district of Olbia with a sophisticated menu a la carte. If you are up to a full experience they propose interesting menu options for all the palates. We had a table inside because it was raining otherwise we would have certainly asked for an outside table. Mussels bombette to share and paccheri cacio e pepe with anchovies and lime are among my favorites. The price is reasonable and definitely in line with the quality of the food and service.

Please don’t take me wrong the dessert was looks good and delicious but….I definitely want to come back next year.

There was quite a lengthy pause between starters and the mains but otherwise good timings. One waiter kept mixing up orders and was bringing other people's food to our table. Other than this the service was attentive from the other waitresses. To summarise, we would come again and recommend it to others.

TheForkUserWe enjoyed dinner at Dulchémente at the Hotel Ollastu Resort. The restaurant (and the resort) are beautiful, just 20 minutes outside Olbia with beautiful views of Tavolara Island.The restaurant quickly filled with guests and locals. The food was very good, although the service team struggled a bit to keep up with all of the tables and guests, nonetheless it was a lovely evening. Dulchemente’s is a great spot for a special occasion.

However, the quality of food is very good. They kindly prepared a doggie bag with the delicious roast pork that we could''t finish.

TheForkUserAmbience is nice but food far exceeds best expectations. Malloreddus were outstanding. Grouper was a real dream delicate with a tasty texture. Cuttlefish not easy to cook as it can taste banale instead it was transformed into a class 1 serving. Even the glass of Vermentino was high quality. If you consider the high quality the value for money is unique!

TheForkUserThis was by far the best food we have had while on our trip in Italy. I wish we had come a half hour sooner to see the sun setting as we were only able to watch it for a few minutes. We definitely will remember this restaurant for future visits to Sardinia!

TheForkUserPossibly the best fish restaurant in the Mediterranean!We were in Baja Sardiinia for 8 days and ate in this restaurant on 4 occasions.The quality of the food and service are absolutely superb.We have travelled all round the Med and frankly this is the most enjoyable restaurant we have ever experienced.The quality of the food- octopus, sea bream, prawns is first class and the wine selection especially of Vermentinos is a revelation- you can try at least eight of them by the glass .. and we did over several visits! The staff are brilliant --friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.From the starter Negroni made with a local gin to the final melon based digestif, they are just perfect.This place is a real find!!!!!

Really relaxed, wonderful atmosphere, and amazing service. Very highly recommended, and already looking forward to another visit before my return to the UK at the end of the week.

TheForkUserDisappointed, the tuna and prawn tartar were nice, but they have a wasp problem and several tables were struggling. The pasta dishes weren’t that great, except the kids pasta, that was nice. We thought it wasn’t cheap for what it was, good wine prices though.
