Been going here for years. The new owners are doing a good job. They put on family stuff now, which is nice for the neighbourhood. Had a wood-fired pizza last week, proper tasty.

The small plates are a tasty complement, and I appreciate that the ingredients taste so fresh.

The Sunday roast was spot on. Yorkshire pudding was crisp, the cauliflower cheese had a good bite. The real highlight was the house red they suggested - a nice, earthy Pinot Noir that cut through the richness perfectly. Solid value for the quality.

That lamb curry was something else. The spices were so fragrant and the meat just fell apart. Honestly, it's ruined other curries for me now. The whole place had a really nice, relaxed vibe too.

The breakfast buffet is a steal. They make the eggs to order, which is a nice touch. The house coffee was a bit weak for my taste though.

Their granary sandwiches are a real winner. The bread is thick and nutty, and they pack it with fillings. Had the tuna and coleslaw today – really hit the spot.

Popped in for a quick bite while shopping. The chicken and avocado sandwich was fresh, really hit the spot. Coffee was decent too. Just a bit cramped inside when it gets busy, but fine for a short stop.

Nice pub for a quick pint. Hawkstone lager from Diddly Squat is a solid choice. Food looks decent from what I saw, but haven't tried it. Good spot for a swift one after work.

The breakfast stack was hot and fresh, just right. But honestly, the best bit was the quiet morning light through the window. Felt like a proper pause before the day really began.

Popped in for their Tuesday buffet. Decent spread, plenty of veggie choices too. The lamb curry was spot on. Bit of a queue to get in, but it moved fast.

Parking lot's got a lot of speed bumps. My coffee nearly went everywhere. Just a heads-up if you're carrying a drink.

The staff are really friendly and clearly love what they do. They suggested a lovely wine that paired perfectly with my main course.

The carvery roasts were generous and lovely, even with the limited Mother's Day menu. The manager's choice of a full-bodied red to pair with it was spot on.

The food is consistently good. I really appreciate how fresh the ingredients are, you can taste the quality in the salads and grilled fish. The staff are always very helpful and friendly, which makes for a nice, relaxed meal.

The bartender was a real pro when my friend felt unwell. Calm, discreet, and knew exactly what to do. Service like that, especially with a good wine list to back it up, makes all the difference. Really solid.

A solid local for a quick bite. The app ordering is handy, no fuss. Food came out fast and the prices are fair. I was hoping for a more interesting beer selection to go with the fish and chips, but the lager was fine. Good for what it is.

Sunday carvery is solid. Beef was spot on, not dry. Cauliflower cheese was a standout. Service kept up well despite the crowd. Good option for a reliable Sunday lunch.

The food's good, but I found a few dishes needed more heat for my liking. The chicken curry, for example, was a bit mild. Still, the flavours are solid.

Lovely spot by the river. The view was really nice and made for a relaxed lunch. A bit on the pricier side for what you get, but the setting is hard to beat.

A solid Wetherspoons in a lovely village. Just right for a quick, cheap pint after hopping off the train.

The kebabs were fantastic, and they paired perfectly with a bold red wine. The homemade chilli sauce had a great kick to it.

The Fruit Salad ice cream was spot on, tasted just like the sweets. The place itself is really bright and airy, lots of natural light which I liked.
