I decided to visit this place after seeing a TikTok video, but it turned out to be a huge letdown. The food portions were significantly smaller than what was shown online. While the taste was decent, the overall experience was ruined by poor service. The waitress barely gave us a moment to settle in before pushing overpriced bottled water on us. She had already started pouring before I even had the chance to take off my coat. After a long wait, our food arrived cold, which was incredibly frustrating. To make matters worse, the kitchen is practically in the dining area, so the entire place fills up with smoke and cooking smells. Definitely not an enjoyable experience.

Food was solid. The owner's a friendly bloke, had a quick chat while waiting for my takeaway. Simple spot, nothing fancy.

Matthew was a great server, really knew his stuff. Suggested a lovely red that paired perfectly with our steak. Made the whole evening flow nicely.

The Sunday carvery is a treat. The roast beef was pink all the way through, and the pork crackling was spot on.

The owner really made the birthday special. They brought out a little cake with a candle, no fuss, just a nice touch. Everyone at the table appreciated it.

This is one of the places that has the best customer care, Mel is so friendly with a happy personality. The place is roomy and well maintained I would gladly recommend this place to anyone, and yes I will certainly come back again.

Tables are nicely spaced for a group, and the vegetarian menu is decent. Service was pretty efficient too.

Had a lovely evening at The Royal Oak. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. My steak was cooked just right, and the house red they suggested was a perfect match for it. A very solid pub experience.

I've been here several times and the food has always been great. The staff are always friendly though sometimes it takes a while to be served as they are so busy. But worth the wait.

The staff were so warm and kind. George especially made sure we were looked after. It was a really nice Valentine's evening.

Came for the lunch set menu. For £15, you get a starter, main, and a drink. The portion of the fish and chips was generous, really filled me up. Good for a quick, filling meal in the middle of the day.
