TheForkUserExcellent and imaginative food and pleasant service.Menu of the day was very good value for money.Welcomed us and our small spaniel dog.Would highly recommend this restaurant.
TheForkUserThis was our first to this restaurant. It was really good. The interior was amazing. We loved the fact that the chef visits your table with the steak to explain the piece you have chosen. It was then cooked immaculately. The food was amazing.
TheForkUserThis was a wonderful meal from start to finish! The Bergerac white wine paired perfectly with our dishes. Our starters, foie gras for me and sweetbreads in an amazing mushroom casserole for my husband, were delicious. We both had the sea bass for the main course and it too was delicious. The desserts were beautifully presented and tasty, but we couldn’t finish them after all the great food that came before. Excellent, attentive service. No rushing. A beautiful evening! Mercí beaucoups!
TheForkUserWe booked a table for six on a Saturday night. Apart from us, only one other table of eight so a quiet night as the restaurant can probably seat three times that. Service was prompt and friendly. Multiple starters, mains and desserts available with generous portion sizes, however whilst everything was well cooked the mains arrived slightly too cold. We did feel that the prices were quite high in comparison to the plates. Also, no potatoes or tomatoes were available before Columbus so the selection of vegetables should be more adapted to the theme of the restaurant , with a bit more imagination! Perhaps time to update the menu? The fact that you can dress up in costume is a fun element and we had a good evening overall. Thank you.
TheForkUserWe were so glad that this is one of the few restaurants open an a sunday - so glad we went! Excellent and friendly service, great reasonably priced food (good choices)!
TheForkUserFood is great, but last night they were not paying attention. At first they couldn’t find my reservation. They forgot my coke and I had to ask a second time. No biggie. Then they forgot the mozzarella on my pizza. I had to send it back to get it. Then my husband and I got dessert, a waffle to split, and they forgot the crème chantilly. They made no attempt to make this right. Which is disappointing because their food is excellent and in 4 years of being a loyal customer this was my first bad experience. But when you repeatedly mess up, you should try to be commerçant.
TheForkUserLe Moulin du Roc is in an idyllic position on a pretty river. We were entertained by dancing damsel flies, the ones Rossetti describes as ‘like a blue thread loosened from the sky’, and a passing kingfisher zooming up and down. The service is professional and friendly; our waitress who did an impeccable job also advised me on how to germinate acer seeds! As for the food, it is classic French haute cuisine with imaginative details; strawberries with pea mousse, and savoury sorbets, for example. Everything delicious and attractively presented. Can’t wait till the next time.
TheForkUserAbsolutely delicious food - excellent choice on offer. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Went for a lunch but would highly recommend for dinner as well. Ideal location for city centre.
TheForkUserWe've been to this restaurant quite a few occasions. The first time for evening meal for a while. The owner was very friendly. The food was amazing, so tasty. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. We will definitely be returning.
TheForkUserWe were very pleased to visit this restaurant. The food was great very savory and generous. The staff is welcoming and always smiling. As for the atmosphere, the setting is very cozy, in the middle of the garden under a beautiful tent. Very heartwarming. A must try if you re visiting Limoges.
TheForkUserThe restaurant is in a lively area near the cathedral. Opt for a seat outside to watch the crowds. We arrived early (7:15) and got out orders in before the crowd arrived. Food was excellent- portions were generous but not over the top. Flavour, freshness and quality of food was excellent. Service friendly and fast even though the gentleman was working mostly on his own. Highly impressive!
TheForkUserAs you would expect, the service was impeccable with knowledgeable and attentive staff. The ambience was calming and comforting, with that hushed, unrushed atmosphere, soft lighting, plush carpets, warm and deep colours in a classic building that is also a hotel. The vodka martini was excellent and so were the wines selected for the 7 course degustation menu that we opted for. However, we were not able to give full marks for this Michelin star restaurant. We each had a plate that didn't quite meet the quality that we might have expected, but that could be an issue of taste. Overall the plates were great expressions of flavour with a delicate penchant towards the sea: oysters, shellfish, fish, but also a plate of veal. The comparison we often come back to is The Grove in Auckland, New Zealand and it was the same this time: the Grove's 5 course degustation was more innovative, a little more daring, more explorative with flavours, contrasts and textures. So our recommendation would be: go bolder, surprise the customer in addition to delivering that pleasing, high end experience - We wish you all the best and many thanks for a lovely evening. TheForkUserAlways reliable. We’ll established and well run café conveniently located in central La Rochefoucauld. A regular visit for us. Advise you to book on Thursday and Friday!
TheForkUserThe service was very good. Friendly and quick. The food was simpel but good. We had a tomato morzarella salad and as a main the salmon and rumpsteak. The salmon was cooked perfect, the sauce of the rumpsteak was a onionsauce wich was really salty. We had a discount off 50% on the food by making a reservation on the fork. Also for the full price we would go back.
_TI***gzWith a Michelin star, this restaurant truly delivers on quality. The dishes are beautifully presented and packed with flavor, making it a memorable dining experience.
TheForkUserThe meal was excellent. Go hungry to this restaurant. The main dish, Kofta had 4 kofta's. Maybe 1 too many but delicious.
TheForkUserWe came on a referral from The Oppels and so glad we did. We enjoyed meeting the Belgium host As she was always giving us great service. The atmosphere reminded us of a tropical location. The food was superb and also was the creme brûlée desert
TheForkUserVery pleasant and traditional restaurant with extremely friendly service. Can warmly recommend for the family gatherings.
TheForkUserA really nice and friendly host. Homemade diner was extradonary well done. Wine exceptionell. All at most reasonable prices. We can only advice, take the few meters from rue de liberation into rue des combes and enjoy the hospitality of LA TANIERE DES COMBES!
