保定稻香村·壹品稻香(西大街店)

Daoxiang Village was founded in 1773 on the east side of Xuanmiao Temple in Gusu City. The owner's surname was Shen, who was well versed in poetry and calligraphy. Daoxiang Village got its name from the poem "The fragrance of rice flowers flowing in Chaimen" in "A Dream of Red Mansions". After Emperor Qianlong ate Daoxiang Village's pastries, he was full of praise and gave Daoxiang Village a gourd-shaped signboard. Daoxiang Village was named Yang Tianxia. Baoding Daoxiang Village was founded in the sixth year of the Republic of China. The founder, Cao Hongbo, was an apprentice in Beijing Daoxiang Village in the late Qing Dynasty. The Daoxiangcun store was founded in Baoding in 1917. It is located in the north of the prosperous West Street Road. It has the model of front and back squares. The products are made with the authentic techniques of Daoxiangcun and have both the flavor of the north and the south.

I passed by this century-old shop today and couldn't resist going in for a look! They have so many kinds of pastries, including traditional peach shortbread and mung bean cake, and I also saw a few innovative pastries that I'd never seen before. The packaging boxes are also super exquisite. I bought two boxes to take back for my roommates to try, haha!

When I visited this restaurant before, I noticed their kitchen had transparent glass, so I could see the chefs working inside. That's great; it makes me feel safe eating there. I suggest you sit near the kitchen; you'll have a clear view.
