Summers here are unbearably hot, so I went into this fried yogurt shop when I passed by. I ordered the mango and nut flavor. The yogurt was freshly fried, with a strong milky flavor, and the fruit was fresh too. They gave a generous amount of nuts. It's definitely much better than those machine-made ice cream bars; a bowl of it really cools you down. But to be honest, locals probably wouldn't make a special trip for it; it's okay if you just grab a bite while passing by.
The sound of tearing open the Oreo bag was so reassuring. Pouring the whole bag in and watching it slowly soften in the ice cream made me feel like this shop belonged to discerning food lovers. The shop played soft music and had gentle lighting; I sat there all afternoon and no one rushed me to leave.
This candied hawthorn berry shop is really authentic. The hawthorn berries are tangy enough, and the outer sugar coating is crisp, not the soft kind. The owner said the sugar is cooked to perfection, and it definitely doesn't stick to my teeth. If you like sour flavors, you can ask him to give you more hawthorn berries. Remember to eat it while the sugar is still crisp, as it will melt if left for too long.
