Every customer who arrives gazes at it for a long time. Everyone knows that "Baoding has three treasures: iron balls, fermented soybean paste, and 'Spring Never Grows Old' (a type of sweet potato)." Who dared to add another treasure to the ancient city of Baoding? The inscription below is unmistakably the handwriting of the famous director Xie Tian. Looking around the shop, there's also a standing banner inscribed by the renowned performing artist Ma Sanli, reading "Sweet Life, Unparalleled Fruits," while the shop's entrance plaque bears the inscription "Lu's Candied Hawthorns" by the grandmaster of crosstalk, Hou Baolin.

Except for the ordinary ones, most of them are filled with stuffing, but they lose the fun of eating the sour and sweet hawthorn. They are not much more special than the candied haws in Beijing. You can try them on the way, but there is no need to come here specially to eat them.

Lv Ji Tanghulu is opposite the Baoding Department Store in Tangjia Hutong. After lunch at Baoding Yard, you can go south along Tangjia Hutong and pass a traffic light. There is a big sign with red background and yellow characters. You can see someone carrying a bag of Tanghulu from a distance. The store is not big, but very clean. The finished Tanghulu is placed in a dustpan in the cabinet. There are hawthorns, yam, red bean paste, mung bean paste, etc., all 6 yuan a stick. There are also sugar-fried hawthorns and yam beans. Hawthorn Tanghulu, the hawthorn is very big, with red skin and yellow flesh covered with a layer of sugar, and the flesh is very chewy. The sticks used to pierce the hawthorns are generally thick at both ends. The ones you usually see are bamboo sticks, one end is thick and the other end is thin.
