The one on Mosque Street, you'll likely have to wait in line if you go in the evening. I did too, waiting for almost half an hour. But their lamb skewers are definitely worth the wait. I suggest you ask the chef to grill them until they're charred, so the oil comes out and they're really delicious.
This braised chicken is absolutely amazing! It's a must-try in Baoding, just like the donkey meat sandwich, don't you guys think so too? Every time I come, I have to get one to go, the braising sauce is so flavorful, and the chicken is incredibly tender!
I've had quite a few braised chicken dishes in Beijing before, and this one definitely has a long-standing tradition. The chicken skin is crispy and the meat is tender, and the braising sauce is flavorful enough. It just needs to be eaten hot; it gets a bit greasy when it's cold. I suggest you order a small portion to try first, and don't order too much.
