I was immediately struck by the hotel's stunning design. It wasn't the ostentatious, gold-plated luxury, but rather an artistic feel that subtly incorporated Hunan culture into the details. The lines were fluid, the colors both gentle and bold—it felt like stepping into a tasteful "home away from home." 🏡
Sitting on the 62nd floor of the restaurant, with the Xiang River and the city skyline visible through the window, and the sunset bringing in the soft orange-pink sky… at that moment, I truly felt: life is worth living!!

Wrapped in dough and slow-roasted for 2 hours, the chicken is incredibly tender and juicy.
The sour soup is made with Dong'an rice vinegar, pickled peppers, and pickled ginger—a burst of flavor in every bite!

The baby lobsters are deep-fried until golden and crispy, then stir-fried with hand-chopped garlic.

A5 Wagyu beef + handmade tofu + a sauce made with Hunan green chili peppers—fragrant, spicy, and not overpowering. I could easily eat three bowls of rice with this! 🍚

It's almost early autumn, and I took my family on vacation to Changsha. We wanted to try some local specialties without having to wait in long lines, so we chose Lei Lan Restaurant on the L floor of the Park Hyatt Changsha. The whole family was delighted! As expected of a luxury hotel restaurant, I love the elegant design. Richly colored fabrics, murals, and artwork adorn the space, showcasing a sense of understated luxury. Dining at this cloud-top restaurant, with sweeping views of the bustling city, is truly a breathtaking experience. Lei Lan Restaurant, rooted in local ingredients, perfectly balances tradition and innovation, presenting a refined new Hunan cuisine. Start with a cup of ethereal golden osmanthus sparkling tea—it's time for a romantic autumn! Stir-fried Baby Green Dragon with Garlic and Chili This spicy baby green dragon dish is incredibly flavorful, with a savory and spicy flavor. The meat is firm and chewy, and the spicy flavor doesn't overshadow the baby green dragon's natural sweetness, but rather enhances it. The garlic aroma is like magic, lighting up your taste buds. The Hunan flavor meets seafood, bringing endless surprises! Perilla-Seared Geoduck This dish borrows from the Cantonese cooking method of blanching, preserving the geoduck's original flavor to the fullest, allowing its savory flavor to fully unfold on the tongue. The clam meat is tender and crisp, the broth is savory and sweet, and the addition of local perilla adds a fragrant, refreshing, and appetizing aroma. Dong'an Fortune Chicken Dong'an chicken, from Yongzhou, Hunan, is a hallmark of Hunan cuisine. The restaurant has creatively created a broth-searing method that exudes a sense of ritual. From cracking the skin to hand-shredding the chicken, and then pairing it with the sour broth, the meat is incredibly tender and the broth is incredibly flavorful! Hunan-Style Stir-fried Pork Belly Stir-fried yellow beef is a classic Hunan dish that goes well with rice. Here, we've upgraded it with beef belly, taking it to version 2.0! The essence of this dish lies in the fusion of "freshness" and "spicy." The beef is cut against the grain and marinated, then stir-fried over high heat until tender and chewy, coated in a fragrant and spicy sauce. The spiciness of the chili peppers blends seamlessly with the beef, creating a rich, layered flavor. Lard-stirred rice noodles In Hunan, eating rice noodles is a major event. This simple bowl of lard-stirred rice noodles, in particular, is a beloved favorite for many foodies. A simple spoonful of white lard and a spoonful of sauce, combined with the tender, smooth rice noodles, is simply delicious! After dinner, don't forget to admire the night view of Changsha from the window. The towering skyscrapers shimmer with dazzling starlight, while crimson leaves dance and golden waves shimmer. The hotel's executive chef is also a woman, who changed from an interior designer to a chef. As a new generation of Park Hyatt, Changsha Park Hyatt is more fashionable and lively in color, with green, red and orange as the main colors. Hunan local specialties such as Hunan embroidery, Liuyang fireworks, Tongguan kiln colorful porcelain, Yiyang bamboo weaving, etc. are designed as art installations in the public areas.
