牛奶秋刀鱼0🚗Transportation: Take the subway (Line 3/4) directly to Hubuhe Station.
I have to say, students in the University Town are so lucky! The food there is amazing and affordable, much better than the snacks at Wuyi Square. Here's a guide to the food scene along the street just outside the Hunan University bronze statue square. (You can search the shop names for navigation.)
Note: The following shops all have long queues. To save time, find the one with fewer people and buy your food first. 😊 1️⃣ Lao Tou Zi Tang You Ba Ba (Old Man's Sugar Oil Rice Cake): Claimed to be the best sugar oil rice cake in Changsha, it's really delicious and chewy. 4 for 5 yuan, highly recommended! 👍
2️⃣ Further ahead, A Wei's street stall offers sweet soups at a great price, ranging from 3 to over 10 yuan. Recommended 👍
3️⃣ Highly recommend the Lao Tongguan Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) next door! It's economical, huge, and the crust is very crispy with rich broth. 👍 Prices start from 6 yuan, add toppings as needed.
4️⃣ Next to the street stall selling sweet soup, there's a place that sells egg pancakes and grilled cold noodles. I forgot the name because I didn't take a picture, but it's delicious and has generous fillings. Prices start from 6 yuan. 👍
5️⃣ Tianma Beef Pancake, 6 yuan each. Crispy crust and generous filling. Beef pancake lovers should try it.
6️⃣ Liu Ji Pork Tenderloin, tender meat, 2.5 yuan a skewer. Worth a try.
7️⃣ The infamous stinky tofu, small portion 8 yuan, large portion 10 yuan. Crispy crust, tender inside, not very smelly. Dipping sauce is served separately. Recommended 👍
8️⃣ There are several handmade mung bean cake shops. I tried Xiang's. The crust is crispy and the filling is very delicate. Recommended 👍
9️⃣ Northern-style sushi 🍣 Tacos 🌮, I ordered the tempura shrimp, it was absolutely amazing, I loved it, highly recommended 👍
10️⃣ Chongqing-style braised chicken, the queue was incredibly long, basically 20-30 minutes after getting a number, there were still over twenty tables before we got our number, I don't know why it's so popular, personally I felt the taste was just average.
1️⃣1️⃣ Huxiang grilled gluten, even after 10 pm, there was still a long queue, nothing special.
After getting off the subway, go straight to Egg Crepe Shop to order by scanning the QR code. Then go to Sushi Hanamichi to get a number (and then go to the nearby Senpou Bakery to order online by scanning the QR code). On the way, buy Liu Ji Pork Tenderloin. Go back to Egg Crepe Shop to get your snack, then eat while heading to Shifenman Dessert Shop. Next door is Peking Duck. Walk to Meigancai Kou Rou Bing (if you're bored, you can buy the famous Choumingyuan Yang and Mung Bean Cakes next door). I didn't try Tianma Beef Cake and Sugar Oil Cakes yet; I'll try them later!
That's all! Hope this helps!
