During dinner, the place was packed, the seats were full and there was a line outside. The fish in the strange-flavored hotpot was very tasty. The peppercorns floating on top made it very appetizing, and the numbing flavor was quite strong!

Baisheng Weird Fish, located downstairs from Jiahua Xincheng, is a bustling business. It's said to have been featured on TV, so diners flock to it. They charge a 30 yuan fish slaughtering fee, essentially the soup base. The freshly-caught frog is incredibly tender and fragrant, and the soup base is spicy. It smells delicious, but the bitter and spicy taste fades into the background.

As expected of a restaurant carefully selected by the elders, this is truly the most satisfying frog and fish I've had recently. It's so spicy and numbing, I love it. The frog and tilapia, freshly caught and slaughtered, are incredibly fresh. The moment they're served, I'm immediately overwhelmed by the aroma of Sichuan peppercorns and spicy shells. The fish is tender and smooth, and the tilapia's freshness and flavor are fully brought out. It's incredibly flavorful, with no fishy smell at all. The frog is also exceptional, juicy and tender.
