Scallion oil flower intestines are not Sichuan cuisine, but Fuzhou cuisine. The taste is OK, the intestines are crispy, but relatively light. Salted egg yolk eggplant was not made very well today, there was no egg yolk at all, just roasted eggplant with some salted duck eggs.
Environment: Not very big
Service: Not crowded, still waiting for a seat at 8pm

In Fuzhou, a unique Sichuan cuisine blends the delicate flavors of Fujian cuisine with the spiciness of Sichuan cuisine, creating a unique and enticing culinary tradition: Min-Sichuan cuisine. Today, follow me, a seasoned food blogger, as I explore Fuzhou's hidden Min-Sichuan restaurants and experience a fascinating journey that will delight your taste buds! 🌶️ Juyou Xiangyuzhuang Xiannan Sichuan Restaurant Located in Cha Ting, this Sichuan restaurant, just off Dongjiekou, has become a hallmark of established Sichuan cuisine. While the names might sound like Fuzhou dishes, the owner proudly declares, "We can only make it mildly spicy; we can't make it lightly spicy." This perfect balance of spiciness preserves the essence of Sichuan cuisine while appealing to the tastes of Fuzhou residents. The scallion-oil flower sausage, in particular, is tender and flavorful, leaving a lasting impression. 🐟 Dujikou Sichuan Restaurant A small warning for this Sichuan restaurant located in Dongjiekou: avoid the Xiannan Road branch, as it's rather salty. The long-standing restaurant on Daming Road, though it's moved before, has finally returned to its original location. Their mouth-watering chicken is truly exceptional, with a slightly sweet flavor that's irresistible and perfect with rice. Their signature boiled fish soup is packed with collagen, and they're only available in limited quantities daily. Once they sell out, they're gone, so get there early! 🥢 Laoyao Restaurant Tucked away on Gaoqiao Road is this amazing restaurant, half submerged in the ground, but even that hasn't stopped it from thriving. The flavors here are distinctly salty and sweet. The pan-fried cucumber dish is perfectly sweet, leaving you feeling delighted. The boiled black fish dish is salty, fragrant, and spicy, making it a perfect match for rice. 🌶️ Dongtai Sichuan Restaurant Dongtai Sichuan Restaurant, located in Dongjiekou, is a long-established Sichuan restaurant with nearly 20 years of history. Garlic-mashed pork, boiled fish, spicy stir-fried pork intestines...these signature dishes are plentiful and diverse. Compared to other Fujian and Sichuan restaurants, Dongtai retains more of the authentic flavors of Sichuan cuisine, while keeping the spiciness within a comfortable range for Fuzhou residents. Enjoy the numbing spiciness of Sichuan cuisine without being overly stimulating. In Fuzhou, these Fujian and Sichuan restaurants captivate diners with their unique charm. They not only satisfy the Fuzhou locals' culinary pursuits, but also allow visitors from far and wide to experience the city's inclusiveness and diversity. If you're a foodie, why not visit Fuzhou and experience the delicious flavors and surprises these Fujian and Sichuan restaurants have to offer?
Juyouxiang now offers the recently popular boiled fish with seafood recipe in Fuzhou! As a long-established Sichuan restaurant in Fuzhou, stone pot fish has always been their signature dish. The newly launched large pot of pepper and sesame fish is worth a try. I was immediately struck by the sheer size of the pot, easily enough for three to four people. The aroma was so fragrant before I even started eating. Besides the fish, the other side dishes were plentiful, including prawns, squid, green onions, meatballs, quail eggs, bok choy, dried bean curd sheets, black fungus, cauliflower, radish, and more than a dozen other ingredients. This large pot only costs 158 yuan. You can also add specialties like wild eel, flower intestines, and braised grass carp for 50 yuan each. For fish, you can choose between crispy fish or snakehead fish. Crispy fish has a crispy texture and is firmer than grass carp, which is more fluffy. If you don't like fish, you can substitute bullfrog. For the side dishes, I ordered beef, oysters, and crispy tripe. The beef was tender, the tripe was crispy, and the oysters were fresh. Juyouxiang's spicy and spicy pepper fish is truly spicy and numbing. The ingredients are well-seasoned and the flavor is particularly strong, perfect with wine. The restaurant is limited, so it's best to arrive early during mealtimes; latecomers will be waiting in line. #EatASeafoodFeast #ExperienceASpicyFood
Back in Fuzhou, @美食旅行家佛爷 took me to Juyou Xiangyuzhuang (formerly Xiannan Sichuan Restaurant), a Sichuan restaurant on Jiaotong Road that's been open for 18 years. It was my first time eating this big pot of spicy and peppery boiled fish. Besides fish, there were more than a dozen side dishes, including seafood. It was incredibly spicy and fragrant, and very memorable. You can also add extra side dishes like grass carp, eel, and tripe. I wanted to eat more after eating it. #Taste the authentic old brand #Local only delicacies
#TasteJourney This restaurant was originally located on Xiannan Road in Dongjiekou. It was originally called Xiannan Sichuan Restaurant, but due to subway construction and other factors, it moved to Jiaotong Road after several changes. It's now called Juyouxiang Sichuan Restaurant. The owner is from Sichuan, and his wife is from Nanping. They met in Rongcheng and settled there, opening this Sichuan restaurant together, which has been running for many years. Every day at mealtime, there's a line out the door. I especially recommend the pepper and numbing series—it's spicy, fresh, and fragrant, and the oil is high-quality, with no odor. The flower sausage is very cleanly prepared, thinly sliced, and crispy. I've ordered several dishes and haven't had any disappointments. This is a treasured Sichuan restaurant!
