January 31, the third day of the Chinese New Year, Baihaba Baihaba Village. After breakfast at Yeyu Restaurant in Baihaba Village in the morning, we started to explore Baihaba Village in depth. The travel guides for Altay in northern Xinjiang that I saw on the Internet basically say that you stay in Hemu for one night, play for most of the next day and leave, and stay in Baihaba for one night, walk around and leave the next day, which always feels too hasty. This time we stayed in Hemu for two nights and Baihaba for two nights. For these two small villages, it can be regarded as a small in-depth tour. We first went to the boundary monument of "the first village in the northwest" and checked in to take pictures. At a bend on the uphill road out of the village, there were people queuing, but they didn't have to wait for a long time, and here you can see the first company of the Northwest Border "the first outpost in the northwest", and a sense of solemnity arises spontaneously. Along the way, we arrived at the viewing platform of Baihaba Tourist Scenic Area in Xincun. The viewing platform is not very high, but it is enough to overlook the entire village. The surrounding white mountains protect this quiet little village. The wooden houses of the homestays are neatly arranged, and black dots of cows, sheep and horses can be seen in each yard. If you are not in a hurry, sitting in the snow and quietly looking at this small village, you will feel that the trivialities of daily life are no longer worth mentioning, and you may even feel ridiculous for the obsessions you sometimes have in your work and life. The vastness of the surroundings and the quietness of the village calm down the mind, making it less impetuous and troubled, and more unspeakable happiness and energy. This may be the meaning of our love of traveling. After coming down from the new village, we went to the opposite mountain, which is not far from the old village. There are also several homestays with better views. Overlooking the entire village, it is far away from the first northwest post opposite. The sun began to shine from the gaps in the clouds, and the outlines of the surrounding mountains became clearer. The scenery is much better than the foggy clouds of the previous two days. After that, we went to the China-Kazakhstan Border Grand Canyon. The mountain road is steeper, and there are fewer and fewer houses. There are only high mountains, dense forests and endless expanses, and the sense of the border is stronger. The China-Kazakhstan Border Grand Canyon is at a bend, and parking is convenient. While standing on the border of our motherland to enjoy the scenery, we are interested in guessing whether there are tourists from Kazakhstan on the opposite mountain and looking at us from afar. In the evening, we returned to Baihaba Baihaba Village. We had dinner at Yeyu Restaurant, and then returned to the yard of the B&B.
