Laodingfeng (guogeli)

Stepping inside felt wonderful; the shop was clean and bright, filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread. The glass display case was overflowing with goods, from old-fashioned bread to red sausage desserts—a wide variety to choose from. I ended up buying two of their signature old-fashioned breads; they were soft and fluffy, reasonably priced, and still warm in my hands.

The rum ice cream cake was good. It had a crispy chocolate coating and was filled with nuts and raisins. The portion was enough for two or three people.

Lao Ding Feng's salted egg yolk pastries have a crispy crust that crumbles easily, a sandy filling, and just the right amount of sweetness. When buying, remember to ask the staff for the freshest batch from the back, as it will be more moist.
