The store actually sells various Nanjing Ming snacks, duck blood vermicelli, beef pot stickers, soup dumplings, and noodles and food, but I came here for their special desserts, so I bought lotus seed red bean dumplings and osmanthus sugar taro sprouts. Lotus seed red bean dumplings really have lotus seeds in them. Although the large red beans cracked during the cooking process, most of them still retain intact particles. The dumplings are slightly larger than lotus seeds, and they are a bit bouncy and sticky when eaten. Osmanthus sugar taro sprouts, taro cut into pieces, the soup is not as sticky as red bean dumplings, and you can taste a light osmanthus flavor. Both desserts are 12 yuan. Personally, I prefer the lotus seed and red bean Yuanxiao. I heard from friends that the price of these two desserts was 5 yuan a few years ago.

If the sweet taro seedlings are ranked first in my memory of Nanjing, then the red bean dumplings are my second memory of Nanjing. It turns out that I have lived in Nanjing for six years, and I have always regarded this place as my hometown. For the red bean dumplings, I only love the lotus seed red bean dumplings from Lianhu Cake Shop, and I only eat them. A thick bowl of chewy dumplings, full of red beans, and a soup made with lotus root powder, which is crystal clear. Lotus seeds or dumplings, the naked eye can no longer distinguish them. When I eat them, the lotus seeds are getting fewer and fewer every year. The red beans are not loose, and they are sandy when chewed, and there is a faint sweet-scented osmanthus fragrance.
