Goubuli Steamed Buns, a long-established steamed bun shop in Qingdao, was formerly known as Yizhou Road Restaurant at the intersection of Sifang Road and Yizhou Road. It was renamed Goubuli Steamed Buns in 1985. The reason for this name is that in early 1985, Qingdao and Tianjin Federation of Industry and Commerce cooperated to invite two chefs from Tianjin Goubuli Steamed Bun Shop to Qingdao to teach the staff of Yizhou Hotel how to make steamed buns. In order to show the blood relationship and avoid having the same name as the chef, they named it &quot;Goubuli&quot;
