Yolanda_zyA very popular steak house, not far from the hotel, so I hurried to try it. When I arrived, I couldn't get in. There were a lot of people lining up, tourists and locals, it looked really good. There are not many seats, all shared tables, sit down when you have a seat. The locals taught us to pour the steak soup into the salty rice and eat it, it was really fragrant [strong] The steak is different from the Western way, it tastes like shacha and curry, the beef has been stewed and is very tender. There are a few shredded carrots in the salty rice, and it is salty with a hint of sweetness. The beef soup here is also good, it should be some powder added to the minced beef, super tender and smooth, and some scallions and garlic must be added to the beef broth to enhance the flavor. The zongzi is relatively large, with pork belly, salted egg yolk and mushroom fillings, soft and glutinous rice mixed with special peanut butter, a little greasy, but tastes good. I will recognize this one when I come next time.

Zouzoutingting's food notes Haochengcai is already a well-known old steak house in Quanzhou. The signature dish is beef soup with a bowl of salty rice, a steak and small pickles. The steak is really delicious. The stew is salty and fragrant, soft and tasty. The beef soup is thicker and also very delicious. The restaurant is just opposite the Guandi Temple. Friends who come to Quanzhou can go and taste it.
I've been eyeing this shop for a long time. I ordered a set meal, a steak, a bowl of beef ball soup, and a bowl of salty rice. The steak had a light curry flavor but was not spicy, and was well cooked and very tasty. The beef ball soup was just so-so.
Haochengcai Steakhouse (Tumen Street Branch), located at No. 221 Tumen Street (Quanzhou), I had eaten Haochengcai Steakhouse in Xiamen several years ago, but I don’t know if it is authentic. Of course, I have to eat beef when I come to Quanzhou. I ate Dongxing on the first day and tried their steak on the second day~ Their steak is made into curry flavor, selected beef ribs, cooked long enough, beef is flavored, meat is soft and tender, curry sauce is mixed with radish rice, radish rice is much more delicious~ Cold beef offal, which contains beef tripe, beef tendon, beef, etc., the portion is substantial, and the taste of cold salad is also very good~ Overall, their family is still very good. Although there are many tourists, there are also many locals who come to pack~
On the side opposite the Tonghuai Guanyu Temple on Tumen Street, Licheng District, there is a century-old brand called Haochengcai Steak House, famous for its steaks and other beef snacks. At mealtime, there is often a long queue at the door and it is difficult to get a seat inside the restaurant.
During this trip to Quanzhou, the local steakhouses were also my check-in spots. I chose Aqiu's and Haochengcai, and planned to go to whichever one was more convenient during the tour. I happened to have just finished visiting Chengtian Temple that day, and I looked at the map and found that Haochengcai was nearby, so I chose his place. Haochengcai Tumen Street Store is just opposite Guanyue Temple. It seems that there are not many people across the road, but when I walked to the front of the store, I saw that people were crowded inside, queuing up to order, queuing up to get food, and then sitting down immediately when I saw an empty seat in every corner of the store. Quanzhou steak is not Western steak, but its origin is indeed related to Western steak. In the early years, Quanzhou people went abroad and saw the steaks eaten by foreigners. After returning home, they imitated the habits of Chinese people and made this kind of steak according to the habits of Chinese people, so the essence of Quanzhou steak is actually braised beef. Most of the steaks in the store are served with a bowl of rice after ordering, or a set meal with side dishes. There are ordinary rice and salty rice. The salty rice is also a specialty of this restaurant. It’s not particularly salty, but it feels a bit like rice with vegetables, which is a perfect match for steak. The price of a single steak is a bit expensive, so it feels a bit more cost-effective to order a set meal. Also, as a popular place in Quanzhou, don’t expect the store’s employees to be friendly to you.
