After snapping some photos, I headed to the bustling Longtou Road and spotted a stylishly decorated hotpot restaurant. Upon entering, I discovered it's a three-generation old shop that has weathered the storm and now reemerges as a modern hotpot restaurant. The tomato hotpot is perfect for both spicy and non-spicy eaters. Unlike the bland, clear soup, the tomato hotpot lacks the spiciness, making it perfect for noodles and other dishes. It's also a great hotpot for those who don't like spicy food. The crispy tripe is absolutely amazing. Just blanch it for a few seconds and remove it immediately. It's crispy and tender. We added the Australian beef to the spicy hotpot portion of the tomato hotpot. It was delicious right out of the box. The tender duck blood, poured directly into the pot, is incredibly tender and smooth. It's much more delicious than the packaged cubes you buy from stores. The kelp seedlings are my personal favorite; they're tender and delicious. Because they're so tender, I recommend not simmering them too long. A full stomach and plenty of water will give you the energy to see more of the scenery. For those who've enjoyed a hearty meal on the island, this hot pot spot is a must, especially in winter, as it warms you up afterward.
