Yinchuan is a city that blends the old and the new. You can find the taste of old Yinchuan by relying on traditional food. This Lao Mao Shou Zhua restaurant is located opposite the Drum Tower in the old city of Yinchuan. It is a very central location. In the store, you can see the whole picture of the Drum Tower through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. It is quite artistic to dine while enjoying the scenery outside the window. The large pieces of meat are very consistent with the heroic style of the Northwest.

I went to the Lao Mao Hand-Pulled Lamb Restaurant in Yinchuan Drum Tower. There were plaques of Chinese famous snacks and Chinese restaurants hanging at the door. After reading the introduction materials in the store, I learned that Lao Mao Hand-Pulled Lamb was founded in the 30th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 100 years. The most famous hand-pulled lamb in the store is characterized by freshness, tenderness and fragrance, oily but not greasy, crispy and delicious. The store has unique features in selecting meat, cooking meat and cutting. Lao Mao Hand-Pulled Lamb is included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of Ningxia. The store is not small in scale and the seats are relatively compact. When we went there, dinner had just started, and later more and more people came. The hand-pulled lamb and roasted whole lamb in this restaurant are suitable for large gatherings or large groups. These famous dishes are not cheap, and some have to be booked in advance. We, who are not very keen on beef and mutton, stopped at the special dishes such as hand-pulled lamb and ordered three dishes, cold with wolfberry seedlings, double scallion fried lamb and fried crucian carp. The double scallion fried lamb was large in quantity. Sure enough, the lamb was tender and tasted very good, and the onions were very flavorful, but the scallions were a little old. We repeatedly told the waiter that we couldn't eat spicy food, and the waiter took note of it. The cold dish still had shredded chili peppers. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Basically, all meals in Yinchuan are spicy. Unless you tell us clearly, spicy is a convention. The three dishes plus beer and rice cost more than 140 yuan.

First time in Yinchuan, I came here according to the guide. The gate is diagonally opposite to the side of the Drum Tower, and there are busy commercial pedestrian streets nearby. It is suitable for guests who come to Yinchuan for the first time to try something new.

I personally think it's worth a try. The hand-pulled lamb is fragrant, soft, fat and not greasy. Four people ordered a lamb chop for 108 yuan plus a few dishes, which cost 280 yuan. It was a great meal. In short, it's worth a try, but the price is a little expensive.
