National Day Self-Driving Tour from Suzhou to Taizhou [Car] [One] First, I checked in at the recommended A Ping Restaurant, a food stall. There's a similar one next door. Both are very busy, with long lines. We arrived a little late, and some dishes were sold out. I recommend the fish with tofu; it's incredibly tender and delicious. However, since the restaurant is near a market, the environment is a bit dingy and messy, so if you're bothered by the surroundings, I wouldn't recommend it. [Two] I checked out Jin Kuaizi's Sweet and Sour Rice Cake and Wei Lao Di's Fried Chicken at Pingqiao Snack Street. The sweet and sour rice cakes were takeaway, but I don't know if it was because they were packed, but the flavor was just average; the flavor wasn't very rich. Wei Lao Di's was freshly prepared and I thought it was delicious, with a hint of pepper and perfectly fried. I highly recommend it. [Three] The next day, we had Zhang Yuan Cui Fan. The rice was a little hard, but very flavorful. The egg mochi was also delicious; a small bowl was enough for two girls. We also bought Taizhou embedded cakes across the street. They weren't as impressive as my first time in Nanjing; they lacked flavor and broth. The one in Nanjing was much better. After dinner, we set off for Taizhou Highway 1. [Three] Starting from Huanhai Village, you can navigate to Niutoujing on Highway 1. The scenery is beautiful along the way, with stops and starts. Be sure to drive to the top of the mountain; the windmills are particularly picturesque. Be careful when descending the mountain. There are two roads, and one seems to be more hilly and difficult to drive, so we took a detour back the same way. [Four] Since Highway 1 is quite remote, we returned to the city for dinner. We went to a beef hotpot restaurant recommended online. It's a huge place, with incredibly generous portions and fresh ingredients. The taste was excellent, and the value for money was quite good. [Five] Finally, we checked out Dacaitou Noodle House. It was bustling. We tried the seafood rice cake soup. The rice cake was a little bland, and it might have been better with noodles. At 58 yuan, it was a great value, and one portion was enough for two people. [House] We stayed near Wanda Plaza on our first night. There was free parking, and it was right next to the mall. Aside from the room being a bit off, the location was quite good, right in the city center. The second night we stayed at a B&B in Yuhuan Mountain. The environment was very good, but it was extremely scary to drive on the mountain road at night. It was still a small village under development. If you want to stay there, I recommend going up the mountain early. The sister at the B&B was very nice. If you get up late, she will prepare breakfast for you. She also has her own orchard. After arriving at the B&B, you can eat as much oranges as you want. The oranges are very fresh and delicious.
