suifeng2019Betty's Tea Room's most famous classic nut scones, served with homemade jam and cream, are soft and delicious, leaving a lingering aftertaste. However, the macarons and chocolate cakes are a bit too greasy to accept.

Fast Food
358***33This western restaurant is located in High Osser Gate, York. It is a restaurant with a retro decoration style and old-fashioned clocks everywhere. At first, I didn't understand what Ate meant, but later when I saw all the clocks stopped at eight o'clock, I realized that Ate is the abbreviation of eight o'clock. This restaurant serves authentic western food, including grilled steak, grilled pork tenderloin and pan-fried duck breast, all of which are made from fresh local ingredients, so the taste is particularly delicious.

358***33This western fast food restaurant is located in Shambles, York, not far from York Minster. The restaurant is small and the decoration is simple. There are only a few tables inside, so the restaurant encourages take-out, which seems to be cheaper than eating in. There are not many choices here. The best is the shredded pork sandwich. The bread outside is very soft, and the meat inside is tender and juicy, and the taste is delicious. Of course, the salad is also worth recommending.

TheForkUserSunday lunch today was our second meal here after an excellent prix fixe dinner earlier in the week. Everything from the buffet spread to start with to the main meal and dessert was first-rate, made even more special by the fact that the expected sirloin of beef was replaced by chateaubriand! Served pink at our request it was tender and succulent. Fullmarks to the chef and to Will our genial and professional server.

TheForkUserExcellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

TheForkUserWe celebrated my husband’s birthday and had a 3-course dinner. They have a very good portion and the food was delicious. What we truly appreciate also is their staff Ms. Cornilia, though it was quite busy when we came in, she was very accommodating and helpful to our needs. She is constantly joyful and works with class. We will definitely come back.

健康美丽的芳芳Bamboo Thai Takeaway & Noodle Bar is a Thai restaurant with a pretty good value for money. Their fried shrimps are really big, and the pork ribs stewed with lemon are sour and salty, which is quite appetizing.

Marzano Italian & Grill

dswIn the evening, the ancient city of York was shrouded in a gentle twilight. I strolled along the stone brick path and accidentally encountered Marzano Italian Grill at the corner of Loddle Lane. The warm yellow light sprinkled on the stone slab through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the aroma of roasted garlic bread and fresh basil floated in the air, making people unconsciously push open the retro wooden door. The interior of the restaurant is a typical Italian bistro style. Old photos of Tuscan scenery are hung on the red brick walls, and the sound of frying pans can be heard from the open kitchen. The waiter recommended the signature charcoal grilled octopus with lemon vinaigrette, paired with a glass of Chianti red wine - it was indeed delicious and unforgettable. The main course of black truffle cream pasta was full of weight, and the handmade wide noodles were just chewy. The price was about 18 pounds, which is a cost-effective choice in York. Remember to book a window seat in advance, especially on weekends after 7 pm, when you often have to wait for a seat. It was almost ten o'clock when I left, and the spire of York Minster was flickering in the moonlight not far away. This small restaurant hidden in the alley has become one of my warmest memories of York. If you visit, you might as well try their tiramisu, which is said to be made with the secret recipe of the owner's grandmother. The sweet and bitter taste hides the authentic Italian soul.

健康美丽的芳芳For two people, the set meal is too much, the portion is really exaggerated, even enough for three or four people, you can eat as much as you want. I haven't discovered this treasure platform before, I feel like I lost 100 million. Next time, I will definitely book online first, it's really good.

Ye Olde Pie & Sausage Shoppe

dswStrolling down York's historic Shambles Street, the timber-beamed houses lining the cobblestone streets seem to tell a story of the Middle Ages. Around the corner, the enticing aroma of steaming pies and sausages wafting from the window of Ye Olde Pie & Sausage Shoppe caught my eye. This family-run shop is renowned for its traditionally crafted pork pies, featuring a crispy golden crust and a juicy filling with a subtle peppery aroma that leaves a lasting impression. I ordered a classic pork pie and a spicy sausage roll, which came to just five pounds, making it a great value. The staff enthusiastically explained that the pies are freshly baked at 4:30 a.m. each morning and recommend eating them warm for optimal flavor. This small shop, though full of history, once a hub for butchers, continues this tradition, making it a favorite among tourists and locals alike. Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a later opening on Sundays, it's recommended to avoid the midday rush to avoid long lines. There's no seating outside, making it a great place to eat on the go, especially with a York beer. If you're looking for a local treat to take home, their dry-cured bacon is worth a try for its unique flavor. Standing on Shambles Street, biting into a warm pasty, the ancient charm of York blends with its delicious food, and time seems to slow down. It's one of the most heartwarming moments of your trip.

爱笑的兔子6356In the picturesque area of York, there is such a hotel that has witnessed the changes of the city and has a long history of 145 years. This is the York Principal Hotel, a place to stay that perfectly combines British retro with modern facilities. In 2015, the hotel was carefully renovated and restored by Goddard Littlefield after a multi-million-pound investment. Every detail reveals respect for history and embrace of modernity. 🏨Hotel address: Located on Station Road, only 200 meters away from York Railway Station, it is extremely convenient for exploring the ancient city or going to other attractions. 🛏Room type/layout: The suite room is spacious and well-equipped. The multifunctional round table and the view of York Minster complement each other, making people feel the historical weight of the city in comfort. 🍽️Dining features: Refectory Kitchen & Terrace restaurant offers classic British dishes, while Chapter House Bar has local craft beer and special cocktails. The buffet is well received, and the dishes are fresh and diverse to satisfy all taste buds. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Parent-child experience: Children love this place beyond words. The hotel has considerate service and complete parent-child room facilities to ensure that every family member can find their own fun. 🧡tips: If you want to enjoy breakfast in the room, remember to make an appointment in advance so that a good day starts with a hearty breakfast. The interior decoration of the hotel is American retro style, with black and white checkered floor tiles, wooden floors, plain and elegant fabric decorations, and hollow spiral staircases. Every place is full of quaint texture. The pillows on the bed are down pillows and ordinary cotton pillows, which can be chosen according to personal preferences, reflecting the hotel's thoughtful consideration for guests. Here, every stay is an exploration. The waiter's guidance may be complicated, but it is this exploration that allows people to find their own comfort in the ancient castle. Whether swimming in the underground swimming pool or stopping in front of the mosaic tiles on the wall, you can feel the renewed vitality of this building. The Chancellor Hotel York is more than just a hotel. It is a part of York, a meeting point of history and modernity, and a warm habitat for every traveler in this city.
