Lovely family-run spot right by the sea. The owners are so kind, you can feel the warmth. Had a simple lunch there, just watching the water. It&#39;s that kind of relaxed, welcoming vibe you hope for.

Been lucky enough to fine dine in Paris New York Sydney Singapour and Southend on Sea and Essencia&#39;s food easily compares with them all. Lunch was delightful with a great selection, the local Rose wine was cold crisp and dry in fact perfect. We will be returning to sample the rest of the menu although our very helpful waiter did inform us that the menu changes every week so I can see many many visits in the near future .

The croque-monsieur was perfectly gooey and the burger patty was so juicy. Just the right comfort food to go with a cold local beer.

A nice spot for a morning coffee on the terrace. The house blend was surprisingly good, paired well with the quiet start to the day.

We had a very nice meal here. The food was very good, and a good choice of dishes on the menu.  We appreciated being able to choose one, two or three courses depending on how we were feeling.  The restaurant is well laid out with plenty of space between the tables.  Service is very good, and we were well looked after.  Dogs are allowed in the restaurant.

The tasting menu portions are just right for me. Each plate is a little work of art, and the flavors are balanced so thoughtfully. It&rsquo;s a nice, relaxed pace to enjoy everything without feeling rushed or overly full.

The staff were so patient with my Spanish. Mirela helped us pick a wine, Luar explained the specials. Claudia was just lovely. Service like that, you don&#39;t mind paying a bit more. Made the whole evening better.

Nice spot on the square. The avocado bagel was fresh, good bread and ripe avocado. Latte was solid. Sat outside, it was pleasant. Staff were friendly. A bit pricey for what it is, but I&#39;d go back for that bagel.
