As you would expect, the service was impeccable with knowledgeable and attentive staff. The ambience was calming and comforting, with that hushed, unrushed atmosphere, soft lighting, plush carpets, warm and deep colours in a classic building that is also a hotel. The vodka martini was excellent and so were the wines selected for the 7 course degustation menu that we opted for. However, we were not able to give full marks for this Michelin star restaurant. We each had a plate that didn't quite meet the quality that we might have expected, but that could be an issue of taste. Overall the plates were great expressions of flavour with a delicate penchant towards the sea: oysters, shellfish, fish, but also a plate of veal. The comparison we often come back to is The Grove in Auckland, New Zealand and it was the same this time: the Grove's 5 course degustation was more innovative, a little more daring, more explorative with flavours, contrasts and textures. So our recommendation would be: go bolder, surprise the customer in addition to delivering that pleasing, high end experience - We wish you all the best and many thanks for a lovely evening. When we arrived for our aperitif there was a young girl banging away poorly on a piano. This carried on for some time. There was also a baby crying now and then. These did nothing for the ambience of what was a very nice seating area with a view over the garden. The sommelier went missing towards the end of the meal leaving no instructions to the wait staff about dessert wines. We order two off the aperitif menu - both undrinkable. This is unforgivable. In my view the star show soon be gone.
Very nice establishment in a very pleasant setting: sophisticated cuisine sometimes combining surprising aromas to obtain flavors that one can only appreciate.
A perfect lunch on the terrace, both for the quality of the food and the service. The walk in the park is also worth the detour.
A very pleasant evening, dinner on the terrace with a superb view. We both had the gourmet getaway menu. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts (there are several), and for the cheese course, you have to go to a room because the selection is so large that it takes up three tables. Excellent glasses of wine recommended by the sommelier. The service is excellent without being overbearing. The only slight downside was that the setting sun, the tealight holder on the table created a romantic ambiance but didn't provide enough light to appreciate the beauty of the dishes, but this is quickly forgotten during the evening as a whole. A very good address that deserves its reputation.
