TheForkUserThe place is amazing, makes you feel in the past. The welcoming in the fire place was great, great sicilian white winne, service really great and friendly. The food was lazy, on the menu had a lot of potential, like the Italian chef created with care and passion, but the execution in the day we went just did not deliver, lack of seasoning, punch, care and precision on techniques. Maybe the head chef was not present or lost his passion. A lot of potencial.... pitty. But the place was so beautiful that I will come back in the spring yo retry.

TheForkUserWe had a burger, pork belly and salmon. All of them were excellent. I also had curry soup which was a bit too salty but good nonetheless. It took a little longer for the food to arrive, but they were pretty busy that day. Portions were quite big. All in all, a great dinner.

TheForkUserWe ordered a 4-course "surprise" vegetarian menu. The courses were not surprising at all, they were simply the vegetarian options that were on the menu. What a disappointment. The first course was beet carpaccio covered in oil that tasted like smoked salmon. My partner doesn't like beets, but that wasn't the kitchen's fault. When the server asked us why we hadn't eaten the starter, my partner said that he didin't like beets. Then the next course came: one tiny overcooked (store-bought?) gyoza with - yep, you guessed it - the same beet puree with "smoked salmon flavor" that was on the previous plate. What a shame. The server should not have allowed the kitchen to put the beet puree on our plates after we had indicated that it wasn't to our liking. The truffle risotto that came after that was a welcome change, but it was nothing special and the combination of dishes didn't make any sense. It was clear that this kitchen is not at all at home in vegetarian cooking. The couple sitting next to us said that their food (not veggie) was okay, but the portions were so tiny that they were still hungry and the food took far too long to arrive. The servers were polite and did their best, but we will not be back.

The meal was of good quality, the bread basket was generous, both meat and fish dishes were delicious. The restaurant was festively decorated for the Christmas holiday.

TheForkUserEvery once in a while we make a reservation at Lime in Malden, and also this last Saturday evening during the Carnaval week end it was a joy. Our 5 course menu was delicious and the service very pleasant. We can recommend Lime for a nice dinner evening out!
