TheForkUserStranded overnight at the airport due to a cancelled flight, we didn’t rate our chances of getting a good meal very highly. After a bit of Googling we came across Commune and although not expecting too much we were delighted to find that the food was delicious and the service quick and pleasant. The restaurant feels very open and the airport is literally the other side of the glass, but what it lacked in atmosphere it more than made up for in food and service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

This is a very popular restaurant that locals frequent.., not tourists like we are… a most memorable meal on every level. ( the chef has been at his craft since he was 15 and is now in his 70’s if gives you any hint how special his food is!

TheForkUserWe had a very nice dinner here. The fort had been made into several nice dining areas. The food selection and quality was very nice. The one issue was with cross contamination. One of us can't have gluten. It became obvious in the way home that gluten had made it into the food. Be cautious if you have such food allergies.

TheForkUserFriendly conservatory-style restaurant in a quiet part of Hoofddorp with free parking right outside the door. View over a lake and green surroundings. More tables available on the terrace in nice weather. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food very good (I had the soup of the day which was carrot and coconut, zeebaars en papilotte) and nicely presented although menu is not extensive and was the same as on my previous visit about a month ago. I ate with a friend and paid €100 including tip for bread, starter, main course, coffee/tea and two soft drinks each.
