Buttermilk chicken burger was spot on&mdash;hot, crispy fries too. Bartender sorted me out quick. Worth the walk from the centre.

Came for the chateaubriand on the Monday/Tuesday deal. &euro;70 for two with sides and sauces is fair enough. Beef dripping chips were spot on, b&eacute;arnaise had good flavour. Service was efficient, no hanging around. Place was busy but we got seated straight away. Solid if you&#39;re after a decent steak without the fuss.

The restaurant&#39;s atmosphere is lovely and cosy, giving off a grand warm welcome that&#39;s just right for a special night out or a relaxed bit of fine dining.

Gluten-free pasta was actually decent, which is rare. Staff knew their stuff when I asked about cross-contamination. Portions could be bigger for the price, but the meal itself was solid.

Vegan options are solid here. Rice bag and spring rolls were decent, packaging&#39;s a nice touch. Bit pricey though.

Booked a table for 14 with drinks and platters. Jo&atilde;o sorted everything out so easily. Honestly, the whole group was happy with how it went. Good spot if you&#39;re organising something bigger.

Stumbled on this place near the castle and honestly so glad we did. The bacon-wrapped scallops with Marcona almonds were the standout &mdash; proper combo. Charcuterie board was decent too, though I wish there was a bit more variety on it. Service was friendly enough, nothing over the top. Relaxed vibe, easy to just sit and chat for a while.

Solid Sunday roast. Pork belly was spot on, crackling proper crispy. They even did a little cake thing for my birthday, nice touch. Staff were sound, looked after us without hovering. Bit busy but that&#39;s expected. Reckon I&#39;d go back for the beef next time.

The old woodwork and historic details are worth a look for sure. Irish stew had a proper rich sauce, probably the best I tried while I was over.

Pizza was decent and the portion size was fair for the price. Service got a bit slow when it filled up, but the staff stayed friendly.

Stumbled on this place for the first time and honestly the filter coffee is consistently spot on. They do decaf beans too which is handy. Lunch menu had a decent few vegan and veggie options, and you can add meat if you want. Pastries were just okay though, nothing mad.

The beef cheek was the standout. Fork-tender, rich gravy, proper depth of flavour. Had the fish and chips too, batter was crisp enough. Place was busy but the food came out quick. Portion sizes are decent for the price. Would go back just for that beef cheek again.

I was truly impressed by the Michelin star quality meal I had here. The tuna starter and venison main were perfectly balanced and unforgettable.
