This was only my second visit / pilgrimage to La Lanterna as I don&rsquo;t live in Umbria. So I chose the same 3 dishes to see whether I had imagined the quality and taste experienced during my first visit. I HAD NOT! It was just as wonderful. And all the other customers were Italian which is always a good sign. And thank you Claudio and Paola for your lovely warm welcome. See you very soon!

One of the BEST quality meals I&rsquo;ve eaten in a LONG time. Absolutely just stunningly delicious! Plus, we arrived very late (due to travel connections) and were still graciously accommodated by the kind couple. I believe all the food we ate (meat included) came from within a five-kilometre radius. What a difference that makes! The owner / chef is beyond passionate about what he does.  Which shows.  Ref. Vegetarians / Pescatarians. The restaurant is very meat-focused.  There are no fish or chicken offerings. But the fresh rosemary potatoes and the puddings are so sublime, you&rsquo;ll cope! I confess that I cracked and ate meat&hellip;with out-of-this-world porcini mushrooms. My philosophy / excuse being, &ldquo;when close to Rome&rdquo;&hellip;and I do like to support local artisans. Well that&rsquo;s what I&rsquo;ll tell the local priest on Sunday! I live across the border in Marche but the hour drive to Foligno is just long enough to get the gastric kit ready for some serious action! (Apologies for any crazy Google translations of this review).

The service was on point and the food was incredible! Highly recommended for a night out in Foligno. The pasta dishes and meat dishes in particular were excellent.

We&rsquo;ve spent 3 days in Umbria and had some lovely meals and good wine&hellip; but this is the best we have had so far. Chef Stephano, who speaks good enough English and fluent French, went out of his way to explain everything to us. For an area that is short of fish dishes he had tuna and amberjack on his menus. We had a great meal, good wine and he spent time explaining everything to us. If you&rsquo;re in the area, this restaurant is a must!!!

Our dining experience far surpassed 5 stars! The staff were helpful, friendly and provided exceptional recommendations for our dining experience. The wine selection was exquisite. Thank you Gus&rsquo; staff for such an incredible experience!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Medi. We concentrated on their seafood offerings and were not disappointed. The tartar appetizer was excellent. The crab risotto was perfect. Our main courses: tuna with red onions and a whole orata (sea bream) were also really good. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great first experience with this restaurant.

My wife and I live in a neighboring city much of each year and, frequently, try to find and experience restaurants new to us.  Prior reviews of this restaurant gave it high marks but none of the reviews had been recent.  We decided to take our chances and were delighted that we did.  The food was excellent and beautifully presented.  Alessandro, the owner and chef, personally attended to our table and explained his various offerings.  We sat inside because it was windy but, there is a nice outside dining area that filled up by later in the evening.  We anticipate returning in the next few days and bringing friends.

If you want to eat authentic and local made food, this is the place to eat! Amazing food quality, good and helpful service, fair  price/value: many thanks!
