Pizzeria Bistrò Gallodoro

We came by Gallodoro tired & hungry from travelling from UK. The location & terrace views mainly drew us in but we enjoyed the meal so much we returned last night. The food is locally sourced & made on premises-the pizza was the best we’ve had anywhere. The Parma ham & melon sweet & salty. The lasagne so tasty. The affogato a sweet but light end to the meal. Truly delicious & the personal service, background music & terrace with views are a tourist’s dream. Reasonable prices for the tourist area. 10/10!!

Despite having a broken ankle, we were made to wait about 7 minutes for the table while the waiter served other tables and attended to other customers. Normally that would be fine, but it seemed strange to be put to the bottom of the list with a disability. My caponata was very good, but my husband had a pizza and didn’t enjoy it - the tomato sauce was so thin, it was watery and made the whole pizza wet and soggy.

Ordered a “grigliata di peace” (quite expensive compared to similar restaurants. It was pan cooked not grilled, quantity below standard as well. We explained our surprise that is was not grilled and after some discussions it was taken back to be grilled (waiting another 30 min). Location is great, in front of the sea, however the food is quite expensive and nothing special

Beautiful setting with sea views, background music at the right volume but not excessive. The food was excellent, the lasagna was one of the best I've ever eaten in my life, and the pizza quatro formagi was also excellent. We'll be back.

The fish-based lunch was exquisite, the staff was very kind, welcoming even towards our dog, the location on the bay of Mazzarò was spectacular.
