Food was delicious and the downstairs has the remains of a theater.  So cool!  Make sure to request that area when making a reservation.

Beautiful restaurant on historic site with a cozy feel. Food was excellent but the service was not. 2 members of our 7 member party did not get food for 20 minutes or so after the other 5 received their food. The waiters were working very hard but it was chaotic and they seemed understaffed.

The restaurant is an architectural marvel. We were seated in the lower level which feels like you are easting dinner back in the early days of Rome. The service, food quality, and ambiance was excellent. Pricing were very reasonable.

It is a western restaurant located in a Roman alley. If it weren&rsquo;t for a local friend who brought us here as a guide, we would definitely not have been able to find this restaurant by ourselves. The food is really delicious.

Don&rsquo;t miss the opportunity to go to this restaurant, we go when we arrive in Rome and again before we leave, have been doing that for the past 4 years, food is unbelievable and staff couldn&rsquo;t be nicer. We had two entrees and two mains and all were exceptionally tasty. vellutata di piselli - perfect pea with counterpointsrigatoni alla carbonara - classic and well executeddentice with mussels and fresh escaroleosso bucco with peas and carrotsA close to perfect meal: light but filling.

The young shoots of ferns are a local delicacy. People pick only the young shoots, soak them in salt water, and then cook them. The bracken treated in this way can be fried, stewed, or pickled in vinegar.

No. 10 of Fine Dining  in Rome

This is hands down one of the best restaurants we have been to - it was my daughter&rsquo;s first night in Rome and we decided to try La Ciambella after seeing a recommendation  the Financial Times. Everything was perfect - to the quiet location despite its proximity to the Pantheon, the beautiful open plan dining room and the charming staff led by Mirka who made us feel like a million dollars. We were lucky enough to sit facing the kitchen and received a warm greeting from Francesca the chef. She is a genius and runs a very good kitchen - it was so delightful to watch the bonhomie and good humour amongst the kitchen - hee team clearly love their jobs! The food was incredible - I must recommend the Roman tripe in particular - we tried it at several restaurants thereafter and none came close to Francesca&rsquo;s. And the quality of the ingredients was first class.We enjoyed La Ciambella so much we have booked our return to Rome in December for a second visit - It was a privilege to eat here.
