Genghis Khan MeiMeiTei (Hakodate Bay Gourmet Club)

Since it is supper time, let’s put down the food! Otaru’s famous Masa Sushi 🍣, I was lucky to get in line that day! I didn’t get to eat Genghis Khan BBQ in Sapporo because there were too many people and I didn’t get to queue up. I decided to go and see it when I return to Sapporo in two days! The BBQ at Yoyo-tei next to the Hakodate Hotel is still good... You can still buy fresh processed seafood if you arrive at Hakodate Morning Market before 1pm... The reservations for Kani Honke in Sapporo are all full this month, so I can’t make a reservation, which is my second regret!

After watching the night view of Mt. Hakodate, I took the bus to Cross Street. I originally wanted to go to Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse to have a look and eat, but it was closed too late. I walked a little further in the snowstorm and saw this Genghis Khan BBQ restaurant was open. I saw that the price was acceptable, so I went in. I didn’t expect that there was no seat. I waited for about 20 minutes before it was my turn. There are self-service and single-order options. We chose 7 kinds of meat plus soft drinks for self-service, which cost 4480 yen per person. The lamb tasted good, the shrimp was also fresh, and the beef tasted average. Overall, it was worth a try.

This is another famous restaurant. I went there after watching the night view of Mt. Hakodate. It was around 9 o'clock. It was still very popular, but there was no need to queue. The price of food and drinks is 3800 yen per person, and the price of food only is 2980 yen per person, but you can only eat for 1 hour. After looking at the price of each portion, I decided to order a la carte, which turned out to be correct. The most famous here is lamb, which comes in three types: fresh meat from the shoulder and leg, and shoulder meat that has been marinated in sauce. I ordered one thick slice, one thin slice, and one marinated shoulder meat, which already includes five colors of wild vegetables. I also ordered a portion of mushrooms and a recommended deep-fried lamb patty with soup and rice.

This restaurant is so lively when I came here at night. It was really bustling inside and full of people. The barbecue tasted really good and was very substantial. It was very satisfying to eat. The average cost per person was about two to three hundred yuan, and you could also eat Japanese beef hot pot.

This one is a bit like what we eat in China, you can have barbecue in the middle and hot pot outside, but this one is separate, you can have Japanese hot pot or barbecue, so you have different choices, which is okay.
